Some thoughts on next year's patches

Ok, so, thinking about 2008 in review, I decided to make a list of what I speculate are the 2009 patches. Remember, they are based on no actual fact, just what I think makes sense.

January 2009: CWK II
February: Valentine's Day events
March/April: Elin Forest, or Area Bosses Batch 2, or some other minor thing
(*cough*CWK Final Boss)
May: Maple's 4th Anniversary
June: Summer events/ possible minor 1-part Masteria expansion or Krakia I
July/ August: Masteria expansion or Krakia I if not done earlier
September: minor patch
October: Halloween events
November: Thanksgiving events
December: Christmas events and (depending on earlier) second 1-part Masteria or Krakia I (if 1-part expansion came first), or Krakia II

September onwards seems to be lacking in content, other than December. Open to suggestions!

Sometime soon, January or Febuary, it is looking like Shanghai, and do not for Maker and MPQ

My guess is that Cygnus will come out somewhere between Nov 09 - Jan 10, following the usual one-year delay of content of that type. (4th job, pirates, for instance)

well there are monsters from two towns in the set 5 TCG cards that aren't yet out: Cube Slime of Magatia (which we got the patch after set 5 came out) and King Centipede of Shanghai.

Now, the magazine article said CK 2 in First quarter 09. That's not necessarily january; that's a three month span. So, I'm not expecting it in January. Something small an stupid to tide us over between awesome town that just came out and awesome town we're waiting to come out. Enter Shanghai. Now, Shanghai being the craptastic place that it is, would likely come alongside some of the more minor updates we're lacking. Those might include:

1. Monster Book (In the monster book's first release, all the towns we have right now were out. The only monsters in the original book we don't have are Area Bosses set 3, which could easily be released alongside it.)
2. Area Bosses 3/4 (area boss 3 is only 3 monsters, so it'd be a good thing to add alongside a minor town like Shanghai.)
3. Leafre and Magatia Mini-dungeons. (Leafre Minidungeons would be a HUGE boost in training spot availability for high levels, no doubt it would be warmly welcomed)
4. Maker + Magatia PQ (The shop is there in magatia, albeit the portal's blocked. Magatia PQ should be soon :/)

That's mostly it for the minor things we might get soon.

so if you ask me, it's more likely to be:
mid-late January - Shanghai, Monster Book (please monster book? XD), valentine events activate partway through.
End February - CK2, who knows what else... (Magatia PQ maybe?)
Early April - Maker, Area bosses 4
Early May - Anniversary, Elin and Elin PQ? (Depends on if any other versions release it soon. Right now it's still KMS only), bunch of assorted UI crap.


that's as far as i'm comfortable predicting. Don't really see Time Temple any time soon and I wouldn't expect any more masteria (after CK2) before September at least. We have no knowledge of any further TCG sets so that makes it even harder.

Thing is, Shanghai is in most versions, and is a standard World Tour destination. Magatia's a must-have town. Coke town is just some crappy area that will likely never come. While that card does exist, it doesn't necessarily mean anything, whereas the Cube Slime clearly did and it's not a stretch to apply the same to the Centipede. I mean, Centipede is in Mu Lung Dojo (omg, that's what I was forgetting! I think it'll be out over the summer.), it would be weird to get that without having Shanghai.

i hope cwk2 come soon, and maybe i am asking too much, but nexon should give guardians a better drop rate (drop equips plox), guardians are like the highest non-boss monster in game, and just drop crap >_<

If you are asking about the spoilers, the first one is the Night Market boss, Snack Bar. The second one is an NPC we already have, in the Cave of life.

No-one mentioned the Easter Patch in April/March

February - Monster Book, Area Boss III, Minidungeons for leafre and Magatia, iTCG update
March - CWK II, Bullet Taxi
April - Easter Events, Fishing System o_O
May - Ellin Forest (What better way to celebrate the land of Victoria's anniversary than going back to it's past?), Anniversary Events
June - Malaysia/XiMenDing & Night Market
July - Independence Day Events
August - XiMenDing & Night Market/Malaysia, Ellin Forest PQ
September - iTCG update?, Area Boss IV
October - Halloween Events, Return of Halloween PQ
November - Thanksgiving events, Krakia
December - Time Temple (PINK BEEN), Return of Happyville PQ, Return of Extra Frosty Snow Zone

Pretty much this, i'd kill for time temple, and hopefully high end Masteria expansions. But I just want more stuff, more content is usually good content, MapleStory, while getting pretty big, still feels small compared to other MMOs out there.
