Didn't take long for this version to get haxxed

Mashi Wrote:Its to easy to name over 30 active GMS from a small private server.
But, adding all the GMs up from a real server, I get about only 15 active...

Don't you think it'd be really annoying to get whispers from thousands of people all the time when something doesn't go your way?

"Omg, this guy looted my mesos, ban"
"Omg, i got ksed at HHG"
"I LOVE NARUTO DO YOU?!"
"I hate you gms"

etc...

Personally, i'd ban anyone who whispered me after 5 minutes of that pomegranate.

Oh, GMS has active GMs, but they rather spam Avatar Smega about the BS "Day of Darkness" rather than ban hackers.

#1 rule in programming (and in life): everything can be hacked. it doesnt matter how hard you try, it isnt possible for something to be completely hacker proof.

It's just ironic that the game is being hacked and cracked by teenagers while NEXON programmers are probably 30+.

IP bans ban people that don't need to be banned, like my neighbor.

i only have very limited ways to explain how stupid (most of) adult computer technicians and\or programmers are. for example, a technician in a well known computers\electronics store once told me that my windows is bugged and that i need to reformat my computer, and thats the reason why my cdrom doesnt work (an obvious lie, i bought a new cdrom and it worked well). my friend once got told that his cell phone is using satellites... etc.

hackers are teenagers. period.

You should quit before you say something even more stupid.

though IP banning may not stop all the hackers since it's easy to change your IP, it should stop the most "script kiddies" and make it so that, to hack, you need more knowlegde. That way the overall number of hackers should go down.

But i guess nexon would do something stupid, like banning anyone that goes at speeds faster than X (and thus ban super KBed people), or anyone gaining too much exp in little time (like what happened with BF).

And your comment was insightful... how? They will never completely stop hackers, ever. All they can do is slow them down and prevent new hacks from getting out of control. Which they have been doing a damn good job of. How long do the hack outbreaks last now? 1-2 weeks tops? WOO! If you wanna go back to 2006 when hackers were on every map and every channel for almost a year, be my guest.

You can't stop hacking for good, but you could at least do more than wait until the problem has escalated to the point where it disrupts the game economy and people's training to do something about it. I haven't seen a GM outside of events since Beta. The GMs they hire to host the events aren't there to ban anyone, by the way. Their job is just to run the event as scheduled. It's kind of stupid how people think there's actual GMs patrolling the game and try to Smega them to get their attention.

There are numerous scientists that disagree. DJB even gives security guarantees for his programs.

Just requires some design thoughts...

what some guy said before, there is a hack that allows you to insta-kill any monster, as long as you can hit it. i even had a 1v1 convo with one of them, he got from 1-55 in 2 days. oh and did i mention he was a ****

actually nexon (or INCA) did that part pretty well. not many people noticed, but the hackers\legits reduced dramatically because of recent additions like advanced gameguard protections and auto-ban systems (yes, we know that it also bans legit people, but it also limits hackers).

everything can be hacked, especially programs on your computer (not on the net). cryptography doesnt count, if thats what you are talking about.

My mother is the last of the literate computer Gods. She's over 40, she knows computers from since computers were born, she can explain to me how Al Gore created the internet, and if she didn't meet my father she would have been working for Bill Gates! We should get her on this lol. =[ But she's too busy playing Guitar Hero.

But these days >_> people go through like those ITT Tech schools and what not and think they know everything about computers. Then those people get high paying jobs and don't know anything making a person like my mother uber irritated.

Not all hackers are teens....

While this is true, games like World of Warcraft are virtually hackerless. They actually have a good system thats difficult to bypass, and they have very active GMs, if Nexon could just learn a thing or two from them it'd be a lot better in-game.

We dont need much, just like 1 GM per server doing their job at least a good portion of the day. Its pretty bad when it gets to the point where theres 2 hackers on every wolf spider channel, and one on every Hime channel.

theres a new hack. its a speed hack. the person looks like hes breathing but in reality hes attacking 3 times per second. i got ksed at bf by one of these.

Warcraft is a totally different situation, because in MS, the account fee is $0 from the beginning, and in WoW, you pay $50 for an account. For example, "asdlfkd" spamming "S> MESOS @ http://WWW.RANDOMPR0NSITEURL.COM $4343/bil FAST DELIVERY" would immediately become unprofitable if Nexon charged per-account and banned even every three days. Hackers also have nothing to fear except having to restart.

Of course, if they were more competent and we didn't see random bans such as the Hak bans a while back, I would suggest a hardware ban.

I've lost track on how long this current out break of script kiddies has been going for...

Yeah, the current requirements for being able to spam all-chat are basically non-existent right now. Maybe they should limit speech in the FM to only characters above a certain level... (30?) so there's at least some work involved in replacing banned spam accounts.
