v.135 - Monster Life Upate Highlights

It looks like it's just something to waste time on when you're extremely bored and have nothing to do.

The moment any reward reaped from the farm is something to be sought for those who want to keep up and isn't negligible (as according to some posts here, it is now), I'll hate them for it.

The opportunity cost of dedicating resources to it was bad enough for what's probably a big wing of people. It shouldn't end up being something that encroaches or is shoved down our throats.

In other words, if they want to throw in casual content, it should be f'ucking kept that way.

You want to take a break from Maple and play Farmville? Go ahead, what's stopping you?
I don't see why they need to bloat MapleStory even worse than it already is, and spend development resources, reinventing the wheel.

I agree with this. Why they had to bring Farmville to Maplestory is beyond me. Imo, this seems like a waste of a patch, time, and resources that could have been much better spent on actual content. This better not be the only patch between now and Unlimited in July.

You know what would be nice? If this was browser based, or you could play it while the game was down, and it would update when you connected to the game. (Yes, i know there would be flaws with this). Maybe give you something to do when the game is down or you dont have a solid internet connection.

I love Monster Life since I am a filthy casual.

Those mini versions of bosses and heroes are just way too cute to pass up.

You aren't the only one, considering it ties in with the ~6 month difference between KMS and GMS. Only problem is the release of this patch will more than likely push Unlimited until July, which is when all of the Mapleversary events end.

Also people seem to be forgetting about the ORIGINAL "Farm game", and that is Harvest Moon!

Unlimited was probably in July to begin with like the other updates, with the exception of the first update which is usually in the last 3-4 days of the month.

Yeah, no. That's not the reason we don't like it. I'm pretty sure no one was even expecting Unlimited until sometime after the Anniversary stuff ended.
The bonuses suck, and they're temporary on top of that. If I wanted to waste time on something that looks a lot like Farmville I'd rather just go on facebook.

Yeah, i'm not too thrilled about this either. If the bonuses were permanent, it would be worth the effort. Why should I go to the trouble of making all this effort just for a 30 day boost? forget that.

I could probably get a better boost by doing ANYTHING in the actual maple game. This seems pointless and of no use. Just a gimmicky feature.

Well since the bonuses aren't good you can just ignore it and continue on like nothing happened.

I actually think this looks neat as hell.

Apparently I've convinced someone that maple is shutting down to be replaced by maple farmville.

Too bad we still can't talk to other players in different servers while playing a character and not in ML. I hate switching to Scania just to chat a little with my friends.

Considering that Nexon just recently purchased some developer for the mobile platform, I would say they're trying to port MapleVille for smartphones and gain market share that way.

EDIT: Considering they're squeezing this in on the 22nd, I wouldn't be surprised if Unlimited (or whatever the next major update is) comes on the 5th of June.

I could do that, but I like that I can stay in game but do something a little different. Also, I like the fact that I can still chat with maple friends. Sure I could just login to fb and farmville or whatever, but why should I?

Feels more like a ploy to attract Farmville users and less of an update that might actually contribute to the gameplay. Farmville = $$$ (Or in this case, not money, but the prospect of gaining the same types of people that love to blow money on casual games, which I'm sure they hope will translate to people who love to blow money on NX), so I can't say that I'm terribly surprised. It's an interesting little diversion, yes, but for the amount of effort, resources, and hype that went into it, we could have content in its place that actually contributed to the core game.

Its cute, though. I guess. Maybe I'm judging it too soon, but it just looks boring and ultra-casual to me.
