[Complete] Unscheduled Maintenance - May 5, 2013
Mazz Wrote:My account had around 16b meso, store had been open all day and a bunch of items sold (mostly Empress items and a couple of MMBs). I won't be playing until this is fixed, can't even go on a Renegades holiday because all of my inventories are full of anniversary items and I can't drop/sell anything.
If you loot an imp, you can feed it etc and equipment drops to free up your inventory space.

Reason 1,324,393,002 of why everyone who still plays this game are all masochists.

I purposely sat in Leafre all yesterday because this was around, did nothing, no trades and yet i'm still hell banned Rolleyes

I trained mules all day yesterday and got hellbanned.

oh whale

I had a store up and only one Empress item sold for 20m.
Two other accounts were not hellbanned. No shops on em though

Should also point out that 20m doubled the mesos I had on my account.

Mule that sold at most 600M probably closer to high 4XXM, low 5XXM since Friday with ~8B in reserves was not banned. Main that sold ~1.1B just between Saturday and Sunday with ~10B in storage was banned.

Hellbanned. Well sh'it. Tongue

Only made about 2.5b this weekend so I dunno why.

The hack has been in use longer than that, so apparently anyone who has sold anything in FM in the past week or so might be "suspect".

I tend to agree that a rollback would have been better.
Yes, people would have gotten pissed, but a bit of compensation and they'd calm down.
But people who are "hellbanned" and can't play, can't calm down.

(For the record, I am not hellbanned, nor are any of my guild or alliance members that have logged in so far. It's good to be poor?)

I think i know why. Just realized my friend who i do empress with, her shop got bought out by a hacker so that's hellbanned. The day before the exploit went public she gave me 1b in splits Tongue Probably got hell banned for being in contact with the mule or the mesos in general were generated mesos.

The game shouldn't even be up at all if they need to "investigate" the issue. Especially since they seem to have missed a few accounts that actually have generated items.

Well shoot, looks like I'm going to be hellbanned. Had a shop opened on Saturday and more than half the stuff sold (haven't checked with Fredrick yet).

20b+ here. Only sold 2 skill books sunday morning and i am not HB'ed

I don't think being rich or poor has anything to do with it. I think I have like 2b max on my account, and I was hellbanned.

Yeah, it's got to be the generated mesos that factored in. Looking at the separate cases I'd say everyone who got hellbanned got into contact with the mesos somehow and even people that didn't earn a lot probably had their items bought by someone who was either a) One of said generators or b) Someone that had the generated mesos unknowingly.

Yeah, i'm not surprised I was hellbanned, I bought 2 nebulites and a familiar in the FM yesterday.

They have to check every transaction, so I don't blame them for doing this.

This was posted on the Nexon forums. So basically they trade blocked everyone who wasn't involved and left accounts that had generated items alone for whatever reason. The guy in the pic still has androids, mounts, and familiars.

How did that go? Blame Waltzing for all bad things?

Waltzing Wrote:Trade blocks after the May 5 unscheduled maintenance

As mentioned in the unscheduled maintenance notice:
http://maplestory.nexon.net/news/mainten...013?nxid=6
Certain accounts that require further investigation in regard to the illicit activity that was occurring have been trade blocked while the investigation is underway.

Please understand that it was necessary to be stringent in this while we narrow down problematic areas, and that a trade block on your account or the accounts of other players currently just means that we are looking into things thoroughly to confirm whether or not there are specific issues and to see who can be released from the trade block. Due to the sensitive nature of this topic, we cannot state the details of why certain accounts were trade blocked. Thank you for your patience while we ensure that damage is minimized from the hacking involving the Basic Value Pack.

I didn't log in since the public got their hands on the exploit.
I didn't spend any mesos or gain any mesos.
But I still got hell banned...

But you don't know when did the generated mesos come in now, do you? The public getting their hands on the exploit only means the damage can get widespread and given that the message was first broadcast in Scania which is where you are, you must have been exposed in some way.

MountLag Wrote:Can everyone who got hellbanned list how many mesos total are on the hellbanned account? Also list meso counts on any accounts that aren't hellbanned. I'm thinking they just hellbanned anyone with 10B+

I have over 10b, I am not hell banned. More like its when you got your mesos probably then. I had no shop for about a week now.

Well if people are getting hellbanned because of their contact with exploited mesos, then it really shows how widespread this problem has become. If tons of players are now being investigated, I do not understand why a rollback would not have made more sense. Now instead of just fixing the problem and compensating us, Nexon has to waste their time trying to super glue their wooden house back together after a meterorite just blew it to smithereens. What a shame.
