Only thing I really remember is making my first perma-beginner [which is now my favorite type of class as all the others are really easy]
I remember seeing the videos of 1hero and osuwarii D:

Although it can be argued that repeating the same stages in the same fashion can become tedious and boring over time, the occasional participation in one of the games many party quests promoted socialization and collaboration between players. It created a fun diversion from the endless monotony of grinding, and tends to be a bit less stressful than bossing at times, especially for those who are not funded enough to take on said bosses. Their depreciation is one of the many causes of the "anti-social" nature that the game is currently experiencing, in my opinion. Why PQ when you can solo popular mobs such as Jesters alone? Why do anything other than follow the standard, linear chain of maps (The three mobs in the haunted house chimney/Possibly some CDs on the side --> MP3 --> LHC --> Stronghold) when you can just blast your way to 200 much more quickly by yourself? In the old times, the quickest way to level up was through playing with others in the games many popular party quests. Not only did they offer an interesting diversion from grinding, they also handed out unique rewards that players within the level range of the quest actually cared about. Thats why I miss them. KPQ and LPQ were fun, unique content for the lower levels and a great way to meet new people, something that I personally feel a lack of these days.

I really miss Gobys, my dear old pal gobys. And I mean Deep Sea Gorge 2 being littered with goby houses, not just bone fish and one house. I'd train there on any character, because they were just so much fun to me. CB, Aran, even Striker, it was so much fun. There are a lot of things about current MS, some skills, party play, crafting, that I think are great and really useful but I think if we had all that in pre-bb MS or even immediately post-bb MS I'd be much more willing to play.
The biggest issue with MS now is it seems there's no recognition for what we, or at least I, thought were big achievements. Not that everything is so easy, but it's just so casual now.

PQ rewards are okay for me, but... We don't have such kind of aliens, jesters whatsoever for training starting from the moment you end mushroom kingdom quests. PQ already really troublesome and time consuming, especially after level 70. Not to mention that in MapleSEA, especially in Artemis server, every midnight there are PQ Squad in the form of Expedition that consists of 30 members each. Every level range available. LV 120 to 200, there are always there, including my friends that I have now in Artemis. I tried to chat with them, but with exped spamming chat, my friends ignored me, even I login to greet and talk to them for A WHILE. Repeat same scenario everyday. EVERYDAY. EEEVVVEEERRYDAYYYY. Quest are supposed to have ending if you complete it but it's REPETITIVE. POMEGRANATING REPETITIVE AND MIND FU'CKING. Who in the hell want do the repetitive things, right if by logic and the story behind the PQs don't have FINAL ENDING that shows THE STUPIDITY OF NPCs have the SAME SCENARIO AGAIN AND KILL THE SAME VILLAINS? If pre-big bang pq, I admit that I enjoyed them, especially grinding styled + points battle based Monster Carnival PQ ver.1 (LV 30-50 I believe) but PQ nowadays, with people set this exped system, sorry to say. I rather wish PQ completely deserted or removed. PQ is for prostitutes who want to moan party plz in PQ map. Pomegranate me if you want but this is my stand and I will not change it and I believe there are other ways to social in Maple without PQ. I welcome the Evolving world, Monster Park Extreme, but hell no and give rotten pomegranate to PQ.

Jamesie Wrote:I wish people would do them. Me too. There's less people doing them lately and while I do find them annoying at times (Thanks, overly demanding people) it's a nice way to pass time and I like gaining traits as I gain EXP. That being said they really need to make it a minimum of 2 people because even finding 3 people can be a headache sometimes. Kusanagi Haru; No, that is really silly and furthermore I am finding it offensive that you keep calling these people prostitutes when it seems to me that they're merely organizing to make things efficient and they don't want to chat probably because they have to go to bed and want to get things don't quickly. Whether your friends chat with you or not is one thing; do not speak for everyone in MSEA who does PQs or go 'PQ please' or its variants.

Kusanagi Haru Wrote:PQ rewards are okay for me, but... I find your labeling of PQers as prostitutes offending. I'm a frequent PQer myself. You don't have to believe there are other ways to socialize in Maple. Because there are. And you speak as though PQs are supposed to be socializing tools. Newsflash: Everything was meant to be for socializing, initially. Pre-Big Bang, we partied with each other at Coolies/Squids. Grinding had a social aspect. Pre-Big Bang, we genuinely needed parties for PQs due to the nature of PQs (That darned stage 8 of Ludi). PQs had a social aspect. Pre-Big Bang, bosses couldn't be solo'ed, hence we needed parties. Bosses had a social aspect. 4th Job sort of killed the social aspect of grinding - We had spammers (I meant the Mage Ulti kind) making grinding a marketplace and leveling a service to sell. PQ revamps killed the social aspect of PQs - they're mainly all KILL'EM ALL PQs now. Potential killed the social aspect of Bosses - Solo. Update: Nexon has screwed Maple as an MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) to an MMORPG (Money Maker Online Revealing Potentials Game). This game has already become about efficiency, unless you are actively taking a step to make your own gaming experience social.

I made a southperry account just to respond to this post cause of how much i loved the old maple. Back in my grade school days, I would stay up all night in the summer either Kpqing Ludi pqing and orbis pqing. I miss the intensity of getting into a pq while spam clicking with track. Those were the good old days when everything was fun, but now its just horrible. Maplestory has to be one of my most nostalgic games.

Posted this on Basil last year. Stupid mods/admin decided to ban my account for no reason.

Pets mad my life easier, 2x cards just made my effort feel under appreciated, gachapon made me feel that any money accumulated by monsters was worthless. Maplestory was a fun casual game until that point. I could live with 2x card's but gachapon was the first shot in the foot, at this point of time we've shot ourselves all the way up to our neck and we're a 12 foot tall person.

The days when I could go down the pit with the forest golems near henesys on my defense beginner. Ahhh the process was so fun.
Sit down there taking 1 damage Drop a bunch of 1k meso bags Watch all the nooblets jump down to their death Now I train on these golems at Lv.10... bleh |
