Lots of new randoms with really bad IGN's getting to 200?

So I've seen about 23 people get to 200 within the last hour.
All using no medal, most with names like fffgshjsfdgg or 0003748202... I assume a hack. So does that mean we get a emergency patch?

Unfortunately, there is an increase of it because of a... certain issue. It's already been starting to spread and I suggest that we all embrace for an unscheduled server check.

This is for the greater good.

People stupid enough to abuse this will get their accounts banned.

I like to think of it as 2013's "stupid-cleanse"

I don't see how this is for any greater good.
The Magnus hacker trap was for the greater good. This is just one of the games holes.

One that is for sure going to get Nexon's attention.

Really? I thought it was a hack. Wow. How would they let a glitch like this get out....

it can be done by any new beginner, as long as they have a hyper teleport rock.
so yes it's a very bad glitch

I think someone for Gs found out, then reposted it to basil.

I'm pretty sure you get all your SP now when you advance from a beginner.

Why are you guys so confident...? It's Nexon we're talking about. Somehow I'm afraid that they fix it but leave exploited 200s as they are...Tongue

Just because Magnus hackers got banned, it doesn't change the ugly fact that the vast majority of hackers and exploiters never get any punishment.

Well, all the people that have been abusing it have said you get no SP except the job advancement SP.

if that's the case then they really are retarded. They're basically giving themselves a one way trip to banville with absolutely no profit gained from this in any form.

That was like 2 or 3 every second, a day long.

If they have almost no SP then it should be easy to recognize exploited characters.

Sounds like about the only benefit from this is quick adventurer cards and/or the Next Legend/Brute Squad medals for people who somehow don't have it yet. So yeah, abusing this glitch is very stupid indeed. The lack of SP would just make them even easier to find in the database.

I'm pretty sure full SP resets just hand you how much SP you should have, not take all your points out of skills.
So if someone was serious about abusing this, that's not a good way to check for them in the database.

A better way to check would be just comparing character creation date against level for all explorers with the tele rock you need to do it.
And maybe finally freakin' set an autoban for the people packet hacking the dimensional portal; no one can end up taking the old maple portal on accident, it's not a listed option anymore. >_>

Don't think it does. Otherwise I would've lost my 10 extra AP from that compensation year ago when I used AP reset.

I think I remember there was an issue that Nexon fixed that prevented characters that got the extra AP from using an AP reset.

*edit* Yes, There was. maplestory.nexon.net/Community/#/showthread.php?231980-Do-not-buy-ap-reset-<glitch>
