Root Abyss Boss Mechanics
emailbox Wrote:Jesus... the HP values on these bosses are ridiculous, considering most classes are still capped at 1m damage per hit. Are the bosses boss tagged? I know the regular ones aren't (or they've got "perma" PDR that's un-ignore-able).

Physical resistance is the thing you're looking for. Chaos Pierre is just a huge punching bag w/ a lot of HP before 3/4 HP at least.

No one has beaten them so no idea.

Taking a strong party of 6 to chaos pierre this sunday hopefully. Will post results/video.

HE DOUBLES.

I saw 2 separate HP bars too... but one is clearly marked as the "generated" one. It requires a bit of attention to pay attention to two bosses at once.

Ok, how do you guys deal with the left+right arrow 1hko thing? My method is to just have a finger on each and tap repeatedly, aiming to hit one just before the other, but sometimes this doesn't work.

A. Don't get hit by the hats which are easy for most to avoid

but, given my awareness of your Warrior-leaning tendnecies and their mobility deficiencies...

B. Mash both left and right at the same time, repeatedly, it works faster than alternating between the two.

Avoiding Pierre's hats on a Warrior shouldn't be a problem with Slipstream. Otherwise, tapping both left and right arrow keys at the same time works quickly.

It's more a problem for the kaiser, my Hero only gets hit by them when I can't see the ground. The kaiser's got like 60% stance and attacks that hide all attack cues. Actually aside from the huge dps my kaiser's pretty annoying to boss on.

The hats never kill me. All you do is alternate between left and right as fast as you can just like you do on some console game controllers or any type of Nintendo gameboy/DS

The hats are a problem if you get hit by them when you are too close to Chaos Pierre because you have to alternate between using pots everytime he hits you and tapping left and right. At least, for those without autopot and if you are a melee job. I don't have a problem with them because they aren't that hard to avoid though.

I'm not really sure why it's a problem to spam left/right and hit a pot key at the same time. You do have two hands...

Chaos Von Bon:

Whenever that notice of "A 'crack' has appeared in the temporal crevasse" happens, it appears to banish everyone, but the party leader, to a another room where you fight a Von Bon doppelganger that has no HP bar and doesn't use the "Orb" attack. Whenever said doppelganger dies, the real one gets stunned for a second or so and allows for everyone to do free damage. The only downside is if you stun him in a "Fast Forward" clock.

I dunno if "Normal Mode" Von Bon does this as well, because I've never had him alive long enough to see if he does that.

So max updated his blog to "The Chaos versions of the Seal Guardian bosses in Root Abyss have been released~ To be able to fight them, you must be over level 180 and have beaten the regular bosses 10 times. Chaos Pierre has 63 billion HP, Von Bon has 84 billion, Bloody Queen has 105 billion, and Vellum has 126 billion HP."

Or i was just blind/stupid and read them all with an extra 0. I also made a stupid error with HP values against empress due to my inactiveness so 63bil HP is probably what chaos pierre has. Due to that, he can actually be beaten in GMS. As soon as the rest of my friends finish up their 10 runs we'll try and see what happens.

I would laugh if for some reason he drops tyrant equips because nexon didn't think someone would beat it. Also, do you guys think it'll start dropping the proper 150 gear in a patch soon since we're copying this pretty fast from KMS?

63bil HP is nearly as much as CPB, which totals to ~60bil. The only kicker is instead of 20+ people, it's 6, and 20min instead of 60.

Von Bon is also rather easy IMO. If my damage didn't suck (400-500k crits), I'd see how long I'd last against him. I wanted to try and get him to the 70% mark just to see if the "Shockwave" attack would OHKO in Chaos, but I was tired and started dying from stupid pomegranate. I stopped at ~80% HP.

Indeed, its very tiring to pull out all that stupid damage for so long, the fewer people I have (alive) the more bored I feel -_-. Once I get to the point where I'm the last man standing, I don't even wanna bother no more, 3hours of that boss is gonna kill you (mentally).

Yeah I checked the post on Insoya again and I read it wrong the first time, I added in an extra 0 to all the HPs :<

Tail is fun. Also, the times I saw the super big flame blast Vellum was on the other side of the screen. I wonder if it goes that way to kill everyone with the skill's OP range. That'd be awesome since you need communication, but pretty bad for some jobs I guess. Our Chaos Vellum has a 30minutes timer btw. Theirs is 15minutes.

This might be known already, but every time you kill one of the Abyss bosses, there will be a chance a special merchant will show up in the same map.

That yellow star potion thing (gives 20% boss damage on Abyss Bosses only, tradeable) came from the merchant. I also bought this scroll from the merchant. Not a bad deal.
