31/1 - Characters' max level is increased to 250!

SH gets turned back into a party play area eventually(unless it already did?), y'know. Unless you mean that some of the *new* content has to be 170+?

I'm sure some of the new content has to be level 170+, but yeah, I goofed and completely forgot that SH was changed back to party play during the Tempest patch. That's what happens when your server is limping its way towards the next big patch I suppose.

I also want to express how heartbreaking it is to hear that they're going to be raising the cap to 250, when the ultimate goal of 200 is just starting to come into my view after nearly 2 years of playing. It's pretty much 'Oh, you're almost done? Think all of your hard work is finally amounting to something? Ha ha no. Play longer and spend more money.'

Screw that. I'm getting to 200, then stopping. There's no reason to shoot for another mind numbingly difficult 50 levels that'll probably take another 2 years. I've got to get things together and officially start living my life.

This will rhaveraise mixed feelings but I think we can all agree that we saw this coming. People getting 200 in 20h which was originally meant to be somethig impossible to achieve.

But I guess I can't quit now after finally getting 200 after 6 years of ms. I'm really excited about the content possibilities though.

Edit:
They could keep rankings with 200 as cap and make seperate one for 250 as cap

In my opinion. The game is much more fun when you have exp to lose. So I don't know what all you guys are bitching about.

I wanna ask... Is there any reason to gain more levels beyond 200? You've already reached the max on your main stat by then, so it couldn't be to get stronger. All your skills are maxed, so it can't be that. You can already qualify/attempt all of the bosses by that point, so that's a no go... Equips are an obvious no... Areas... They may add new ones, but what's the point if everything else is true? It's obvious that Nexon just want players to continue playing, and spend more of their money trying to reach the new cap of 250.

Like I said, there's absolutely no incentive to reach the new cap. I don't see a 5th job being released anytime in the near future (if at all), simply because of the sheer number of jobs they'd have to produce.

It would obviously mean something if they made a ton more of content that isn't "Lol k the old bosses got like 50 levels added" and they might tweak damage formulas to work more like Xenon's. What else happens besides the level cap being increased remains to be seen anyhow.

People will do it for the sake of being the first. Not everything is about literal character growth. Besides, just because you can't see 5th jobs being possible due to the extreme number of jobs in total in the game, that does not mean it cannot or will not happen. There is no other real reason to increase the cap besides a new job advancement being on the horizon. AP is another issue altogether.

I could be a pessimist right now, but again, I don't see new content being added anytime soon, due to the content they're adding right now (Cygnus Knight reorganizations, possible Damien boss with 150 equips, etc). We'd just be wallowing in a pool of our old content, which is already hard as balls to get to 200 off of (to the average player, anyhow).

I mean, there is also proof to the contrary. With the new jobs being released (Demon Avenger, Xenon) and the Cygnus revamp, they'd have to create 5th jobs for those characters as well. They just continue to shovel new classes out the wazoo, with no indication of focusing on higher level content or even a thought on expanding the job system beyond what it is.

And don't get me wrong, I never said 5th job wouldn't be possible. I just said it's a long way's off at best.

You need to be a little more creative there Zerard;. Stat caps can be raised and new jobs can be made.

Right, and on the flipside, if they can keep pumping out these new classes, they can quite easily add one extra job advance to every existing class. You're severely underestimating the development team. They could even take this the route of hyper skills, and release them in batches. They don't NEED to be all at once.

Would Nexon be so generous to those who had already reached the previous cap and provide a free ap reset to all?

Read up as regards to my perspective on new jobs. Hyper skills would also be another thing to consider. So how's those Stunning Strikes and Shade Splitter passives working out for you?

You have a point. But you must admit, a 5th job expansion would take careful observation to construct (and thus, much more time). They just can't be near replicas of each other much like hyper passives are (adding a hit, adding 20% more damage, etc). Balancing and overall class relevancy would be other considerations to take.

Every single time there was a skill revamp, nexon either reset people's skill points or they gave them an SP reset. So yes they can be that generous.

As for 5th job, I can only hope

- We are going to raise the level 250 cap and have put a lot of thought into this and this is how we are going to carry it out and this is what is going to happen and etc etc etc

Not

- We decided to just raise the cap and we'll make changes with nothing else and we'll just see what happens

Like I said earlier, this will either be really good or really bad. At the very least korea gets this first so we can see how it will progress. It would be a lot worse if we were KMS and being the first version to test this.

Edit: Rankings is really the only thing I care about. All the people who got a really high ranking for new jobs basically got slapped in the face.
