Login Issues

Is anyone else still having this issue? After I enter my PIC it just freezes and quits to desktop with a firewall error.

I was getting this problem, now I get the firewall notice when trying to LAUNCH maple. Frustrating.

Mine's just really, really unreliable. 1/3 of the time when I try to log in it works - and similar for logging out, it only gets to the login page 1/3 of the time.

Then again there's evidently something wrong with Bera and that's where I'm logging on.

Ok, so, after playing all day yesterday, I found myself unable to login today on my primary computer. It would go nowhere and immediately give me the Firewall popup thing. So, I rebooted and did a bunch of stuff (tried website launching and gamelauncher) but to no avail. In something completely unrelated, Southperry migrated to a new server today. In order to get to the forum, I had to clear my browser cache. 10 minutes later, I tried to get onto Maple again. Lo and Behold! I connected to maple.

So, maybe a clearing of the browser cache will help with connecting to maple????

If you're logging in via Gamelauncher (like I am) browser cache shouldn't have anything to do with connecting to Maple. I have noticed that if I get locked out and can't get back in, power cycling/resetting my cable modem seems to work.

Except that GameLauncher uses an embedded web browser when it fires up in order to display the ads and rankings... My game wouldn't even show the little loading bar in the lower right corner. It always failed before that. This tells me that the address it is trying to access is incorrect somehow. I only call the two incidents related because it may have forced a clearing of the cache on my network as a whole and this allowed it to try to connect to Maple using a fresh path instead of the cached path.

I suppose it's possible. SaptaZapta suggested there was something going on with Nexon's DNS. I don't know enough about networking to know if it can explain why connecting sometimes works and sometimes gives the firewall error, though.
