I frown at you claiming something while trying to get it to work or validating your own claims.

I have no problems getting from Mu Lung/Victoria/Eldestein to Orbis, whether I minimise or not. It is the extended-length ships like Leafre and Ariant to Orbis that keeps crashing.

I simply conclude that DC/crash-ability is proportional to server load, and proportional to travel time.

And just how reliable is this method? Is it reproducible by you and others? How many times have you repeated it? You have also assumed that the timer WILL reach 0, which almost never happens because I DC at various moments into the ship ride. I've spent >100k flying from Leafre to Orbis, whether minimized or not, and only once have I ever reached 0.00 and landed in Orbis.

Ok, so why are you going to Orbis from leafre? Why not use a seed to get back to Vic island and then take a plane from there? It only takes 2 minutes on the red plane from Vic - Orbis as opposed to the 8 minutes from Leafre - Orbis. The one plane ride that rarely crashes for me is the Vic - Orbis ride.

Because I don't want to buy seeds since I have no space in my ETC? And because I still need to go to Ariant, which takes the same amount of time? Or if I want to go back to Leafre from Orbis without seeds? I know the rest of the stuff, plus all alternative methods, including accepting those questlines remotely. I just don't have the space for seeds.

Or how about those people who need to do job advancement? Or those who don't know that the magic seed exists? Doesn't change the issue here, that this DC-ing is pissing us off.

Doesn't provide much alternatives for going to places like Magatia, which is a fairly common training place. Or for people going to Leafre for the first time.

Well yea, sometimes you have to take the plane, but my first point was that I am able to take the planes just fine. If worse comes to worse and you can't take the plane, maybe you might have to use the generic popular training spots like the majority of maplers! *Gasp*

I can take the plane in your dead morning hours and it's usually fine. But if you're a Lumi... any map is a training map... and you can power-level your way up.

Boat issues suck for people doing Silent Crusade. You have to make 3 separate trips to Nihal over the course of the questline.

How does family tele work? I saw one objection based on the fact that there are few really big families out there, but couldn't you just junior/senior someone who has a rock?

You can only use your family tele once a day.

Just log on a mule, use the family tele on the mule to go to the guy with the rock, then use family summon on the mule to summon you.

It gets you to Vic if you are in some place other than Orbis or Leafre.

...Which means nothing to me because you can't go from vic straight to leafre without a seed.

We seriously need to stop talking about the ship thing.

1) Ship >5min sux
2) Use seeds if possible (don't forget Karcasa)
3) Go the long way from Ludi to El Nath and vice versa. Avoid the bird.
4) Use Merc link skill if possible
5) Use the NLC portal from the Magic Mirror
6) Use questline starters if possible
7) Save those instant-move scrolls/letters that come from quests.
8) Family tele if you are lucky.
9) Hyper Tele Rock...
