I really dont see why everyone is crying for this area. I went their today in windia and no one was there. Tried to get at least one 60% shield attack on this so called x2 drop and nothing (was there for 2 hours)
I never liked this area cause of the jq and when i did find a samurai to kill it was ksed. This is just another area that i never end up visiting to a day to day basis. It was a explore once it was out then forget it

Higher levelled area with a boss some people like to fight. Shield ATT scrolls, Ele Weapons etc. Low drop rate sure but still a drop rate. Codex Cards to collect. A JQ (some people like those.)
Or a level 70/80? Theme Dungeon that most people will probably just skip anyway.
One is clearly better than the other. With this new update your losing more worthwhile content than you are gaining.

I'm far too weak to explore it and beat the boss myself but the rage you're seeing here is caused by how this area is one of the few truly challenging levels remaining with a difficult boss that's fun if you know how to do it. That and the new area coming out is completely cheapening the lore and mystery Ninja Castle had which is something I can agree with.

Doing research:
People who want crusader cards. Set gives +2 speed/jump.
People who want Castellan/ it' drops. It spawns once every 48 hours. Not to mention, if you want the staves, you're better off with, say an Empress staff/wand/set.
People who say it's fun to navigate. No hints ingame whatsoever. I need Hidden Street to get through that stuff.
People who want drops from normal mobs (scroll for shield attack, yadda yadda). Ridiculously low spawn and drop rate.
I gotta agree with Street on this one.
Edit:Someone can't let go of their nostalgia.

Crusader card complete set is nice, especially if you're OCD about it, like I am.
There are some of us in Scania that track toad times, via website timer tools, which makes it pretty easy to look and have it almost always be there.
-On that note- I can easily get a character to 120 in a few hours if I'm able to find Castellan. I can gain 4 levels (2 from each body) per Castellan.
-Consequently, if an estaff drops, it's a nice little bonus.
-It's good experience, even for higher levels that don't care to train. Much like I did when leveling my bishop.
It is fun to navigate because it keeps the noobs out
@Street: that's unfortunate that you got ksed, but eh, samurai are fairly common

How do you gain 4 levels when toad doesn't spawn mobs anymore? you'll be stuck at 99,99%

Exit, kill a mob, redo the jump quest.
I don't leech myself, a few of the stronger guildmates take turns leeching each others' noobs like that.

Finish an event quest that gives exp: that makes it easy. And Castallen does spawn mobs.
-
Also, Kacchuu is 12 hour spawn and Castallen is 48 hour spawn.
If you haven't already fought Castallen... then good luck finding him before the update.

If you were directing that towards me, I killed at least a 100 toads.
So what I dont get is that i´ve never ever seen him spawn any mob at all.

Smart idea, never thought of that.

Hyphen separated who I was addressing :p
Also he used to spawn mini toads but now he spawns Captains from Herb Town. Possibly just recently he just doesn't spawn anything but that would have to be pretty recent.

-I'm not, so I don't know what you mean. Point's moot also since the new monsters will overlap the old, and all info given by the old cards (drops and all) will be outdated.
-If you wanna wait 2 days to kill a boss rather than head to an instanced boss like Zakum, Horntail, or Hilla... ok. And that's if someone else hasn't already beaten you to the punch.
-There are plenty of other options, such as Azwan and Romeo/Juliet at that level. I can gain an easy 10 levels per 4 hours of 2x with the latter.
-You didn't deny that Empress equips are better.
-And no... That's poor game design. Giving the demographic absolutely no direction on where to go is not fun. Needing to look to an outside source is not fun. It's frustrating, and detracts from the gaming experience (or in short, a turn off).

How do you know for sure you'll be available in two day's time? I didn't deny that you could use timers. Jqs and the liking are irrelevant when you can simply walk into Hilla and kill her. No timer needed.

Not by killing Castellan.

Alright. But there's also tons of other things you can sell, such as certain mastery books, zakum helms, and horntail pendants. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the lower elemental staves were deflating last time I checked.

Why do people always act like the water temple is the satan of Zelda? You could actually check your map, see where you've been and where you need to go. I guess in the same way that you said that jqs become second nature, so does going through the water temple. And I never said I was a god among gamers. You did. While I can't deny that I've been forced to look at guides from time to time, I never stated that I liked to. Nor did I say that the parts in question were good parts of the games.

I find much greater enjoyment in roaming around and getting lost trying to find my way around than know exactly how to get where I want to go from the start. It's like when Phantom Forest came out, there was no obvious path to getting to the top of Forgotten Path, so we wandered, through the identical Crossroads maps, the nearly identical Twisted Paths maps, and we had fun with it, discovering Big Foot, and the various hidden streets, doing the quests.

When necessary my guild can make arrangements to have someone within the guild kill it, if needed to be kept on schedule. We don't always do this, just when someone's character is in need of being leveled.

Timing such bosses you miss it or you dont, especially with such a ridiculous cool down. However those times won't be constant and may end up in her favor majority of the time. The point is you wouldn't waste your time looking with such methods.

LOL. Maybe in scania fm but what about dead places like khaini where zhelms are so hard to sell they arent being sold anymore? This isn't just scania and people can use the income especially with the surplus of mesos currently.

Yeah because FAQ's and things like guides, man, did they kill gaming back in the 80's!

I suppose it's a 'to each your own' on that point. If exploring and getting lost is your cup of tea, more power to you. In my opinion, the designer who subtly gives the demographic direction (and not jabbing it into your head like a lot of games in the current day and age do) is my idea of excellent conveyance.

What if you're not in a big guild? What if you're just a player in a meager guild? People aren't as kind as you make them out to be in those scenarios.

So you're telling me (based of what you said), you can kill Castellan 4 times (or more!) within a half an hour. You're right, I must be ignorant.

Ok. Though I have seen Htps going for 150+ in Scania. That's some good income in the same way you stated, methinks.

How is looking at a map spoon feeding you? Also, see:

Uh..you do know there app's dedicated to maplestory right? Which try to let you do things more efficiently, so that less time is dedicated...isn't that "blatantly" obvious?

Pretty sure guide books have been produced that long. Not specifically to video games, but anything in general. Aka outside sources.
