@Savage makes a very good point on why it seems harder to have fun on Maple Story these days if you don't have friends: Not only is content mostly rehashed, there's so little left to do because Nexon isn't too proactive when it comes to addressing the issue that end-game content is sorely lacking (And no, bosses on their own don't count). First things first, I really think the Nova addition was pointless because we're not yet even done addressing the Black Mage (Despite the fact that Phantom does mention Magnus in his quests) and then comes two more classes separate from the Maple World? And one of them can out-damage anyone in the game? Oh, and by the way, did we mention these sweet equips that give you more bang for the buck if you enhance it several times?
On top of this, it is really far too easy to reach level 200 these days. It used to be that you'd be at one place for quite a bit so that served as a limit on how much content you'd be seeing but that's gone now that people level up so quickly. There's also a severe lack of new things to do and explore other than events (And even that is a stretch) so it's really no surprise that more and more people are asking this question.
