Assuming that those are also suicidal people through bullying, we don't have to lay awake at night thinking about all the terrible things that happen around the globe, but when you read a story like this, I feel it's important to at least have a shred of empathy and humanity to feel sad that something as tragic as this had happened. So that does not mean we've to remember them forever, if they weren't connected through us in any other way then a television broadcast or an internet article. I think it's a problem though if you're really desensitized through these stories and fail to recognize the actual problems who are still out there. I'm not saying we should all start an anti-bullying organisation, but next time you see something similar to this, step up and at least give it a damn try. You don't even know the underlining problem of this scenario. It's sex sells, it gains attention, that provactive personality of her's is what caused this, and people got sick of it. This isn't "oh god he likes anime what a weirdo!", it's no different than you watching a tv show and calling them idiot's. Jersey shore ring a bell? Yeah no. I've read other stories where the bullying victims did nothing wrong except to exist (In the bully's eyes) and they got far less coverage and certainly did not have pictures of their early years being put up either. On top of that, the fact that what this girl actually did prior to the stalking and the beating up is hardly mentioned at all in the original article which shows a very marked bias in comparison to the other articles I've read that focused less on the "Oh she's pretty pictures" (Because they were just normal-looking or nerdy amirite) and the circumstances that led to her suicide.

I don't like this article and I don't feel all that bad for this girl precisely because this is the exact kind of slant that implies to present and future bullying victims that no one cares very much unless they're dead and pretty, and that apparently being pretty gets you sympathy if you die even if what you did is a thousand times more idiotic than being born with a certain trait that makes bigots hate you.

How did she create conflict again? She moved away and the guy kept following her and he was CREATING THE CONFLICT! Not her, why the pineapple would she move all those times just to have the same treatment happen to her over and over huh? In one of her schools no one knew about it until he added all the people that went to that school to the facebook page he created. She didnt have a facebook anymore the facebook page they are talking about is the one the guy created with her boobs as the picture.

Also regarding her having sex with that one guy who had a girlfriend. Why is she the only one being blamed again? You guys are acting as if this doesnt happen all the time. The guy girlfriend sucked in bed and he wanted something better. His girlfriend found out so he wanted to save his skin saying that she forced him to do it. His girlfriend must also be a stupid plum if she actually believed anything he said. How can a girl force you in to sex. If you dont want her and your so pineappleing faithful to your girlfriend it wouldnt have happen in the first place. He wanted it to happen so he did it. The guy , his plum of a girlfriend and amanda were wrong. She was not the only at fault regarding this.

Also she didnt upload the video a day after she killed her self it was uploaded 3 weeks before that. No one knew about her, she didnt create any facebook pages asking for attention, she didnt advertise her video, she didnt buy billboard space, looking for any attention. When people commit suicide motives are searched for and they found her video. How was posting a video about her problem looking for attention again? She is not the only one that does it. If any of you self centered morons actually searched youtube for other things beside over used memes and funny videos you will find people life stories on there.

Ok, well let's just get this all out of the way so you all can stop your peaching about this dead girl. A lot of what is posted in her video and on her page is fabricated to make her look like she was an angel. Think again.

1. She was 15 years old when she flashed those guys.
2. She did it out of her own free will. She CHOSE to do it.
3. She already flirted with many guys before.
4. She got 'beat' up at school not because of the picture, but because she slept with another girl's boyfriend. (refer to #1)
5. The guy 'bullied' her once only about 6-8 months after she flashed online. Not multiple times over 2 years.
6. She was known to have slept with multiple men and to sell herself out.
7. Her home life wasn't the best. (family troubles)

The population, especially the younger generations, are a bunch of spoiled rotten brats that take all that we, in our society, have, for granted. They don't care about the other people in the world and are all selfish (generally speaking- I obviously know that there are some good people out there). I agree that there is way too much attention on this one girl's suicide and it is a shame that someone this young found it necessary to take her own life- no one should ever feel the need to do that. Regardless, kids these days can't seem to make the right decisions and those wrong decisions that they do make are amplified ten fold purely by means of the internet. IMO this is what I call a Fucked up situation. There's more than enough blame for the girl, the bullies, and probably her parents.

Yes she shouldn't have flashed a random stranger on the internet. Does that mean the guy shouldn't be prosecuted for harassment and child pornography? No.
Yes she slept with a guy who was in a relationship. Does that mean he didn't take advantage of her depression and vulnerability? No. It's a freaking high school relationship. Some are measured in minutes...
Yes she turned to drugs, alcohol, and cutting.
Yes she clearly sought attention. Does that mean she wanted the harassment and violence to continue? No. Every high school student wants attention and recognition.
Yes these were all personal choices.

She did bad things. She made mistakes. Yet I believe NO ONE should have to face harassment and beatings. This story is receiving a lot of attention because she is a pretty white girl and "cyber bullying" is a hot topic right now. But that should not be held against her personally or be used to discredit the importance of the actual issues. A CHILD committed suicide and on some level was pushed into it by the treatment of others. I do not mean to blame bullies or any one else for her death. It was her choice, but that doesn't mean others are completely blameless either.

Disclaimer: My girlfriend is in a different, but partially related Fucked up situation. I have learned only one thing that I now believe with complete certainty. No one personal is completely to blame and can be held responsible. It takes several people a LOT of time, effort, and above all patience to pull someone out of a downward spiral of repeated bad decisions.

It isn't that the younger generation is spoiled and that they take things for granted that we have a messed up society, but the problem is that MOST people do not give a s'hit about others in the world. Kids will always make stupid decisions. That is what makes them kids and is a part of growing up. I do agree with you that involving the internet in those decisions tends to make things a lot worse, but what [MENTION=3755]Raph589[/MENTION]; was saying is that it is amazing that so many people die all over the world from curable ails (like hunger or dehydration), but when one white girl kills herself, the media goes nuts. I understand that this happened in Canada, which is a developed country close to the United States, and that it brings up real issues of current concern, but it is incredible how people nit-pick what they want to discuss on a societal scale.

With the whole Kony thing, I think a lot of people were amazed by how many people were pretending to care or acting like they cared just to jump on the "I'm conscious of things!" bandwagon when they were all too aware that two weeks from now, nobody was going to give a dam. Then there were those who made assumptions or donations without actually getting all the facts. I think it really depends how society goes about trying to obtain awareness for issues and the reasons they try to gain awareness that causes people to think things are stupid.
