Thoughts on the new PvP Grand Battle
I like how that PsychPillow guy keeps bringing in "Skill" to his argument.
I must be GOD TIER SKILLED if I'm OHKOing 95% of players I run into.

Aside from that BaM trick with the MP drain, I actually don't think I've seen any OHKOing. And half the time it's not the BaM who delivers the coup de grace.

Met my first bishop today, unkillable but not punching any harder than the rest. The F/P I met had Flame Gears and pretty much made massive areas of the field impassable -_-;

Heros don't even have power guard...

Yeah they do...

Power guard and power reflection are different though. Have you checked the stats of each? They split power guard between the two with their own agenda in chaos? i think.
Power reflection displaces less damage while reflecting a lot more.
Power guard displaces a lot more, but doesn't reflect much.

What's worse is that Power Reflection in old PvP compared to Power Guard displaced nothing AND reflected less damage!

Yay Nexon logic!

Which is funny cause DS Vengeance is very similar to Reflection and we all see how that's going...

I play a BaM so regardless of skill it's always been easy for me to get kills... My biggest issues are that it is ridiculously unbalanced and there is really no variety in maps or gameplay.
Winning should be based on skill, not what class you are, and how funded you are shouldn't play as big a role as it currently does.

It's actually harder IMO to get gallant emblems now. I can't play for more than 30 minutes because it's that boring, and in that 30 minutes I only end up getting 2 gallant emblems.

Not to mention you're screwed if you DC or get promoted to an empty room, since you can't carry over your gauge level at all.

Finally got around to trying this, on my 7x fighter.

The main problem I have with it is there's no exp split (since nobody has godly potential in the low level 70-120 rooms, it actually takes multiple attacks to kill guys). If you kill 95% of a dude and someone else gets that last hit in, then they get 100% of the exp.

Earned ~50% exp and 1 emblem in 20 minutes. Got ~15 each kills and deaths.

Too many classes (all except pirates) have usable FJs...

Gave this new pvp a shot. Wanna hear a funny joke I relearned today?

The joke is pirates. Pirates are the joke.

My cannoneer does pretty well enough on his own even without cannon jump.

I mean there was a time where i forgot summons existed and was getting used to my attacking range. Only takes 1 or 1.5 solid hits usually, and this is in the highest tier of pvp with other crazy guys.

Because you are the only pirate class that is good in PvP.
In old PvP your summons and counter were deadly.
Now you have summons STRONGER than you, more deadly, and you can use your powerful pot to make things even easier.

 Spoiler

pineapple pvp, my friends and i are having a tea party in the battleground
(then a bishop came in and ruined it ugh)

it's.. kind of awful. i can't say much though because i didn't face a lot of extremely funded people or classes (just bishops/arch mages/phantom/DB/NL/DS/BaM in one session)

there was this DS who camped people at spawn and disrupted buffing.. it should be a courtesy thing to allow people to buff (or maybe just bring back the goddamn spawn platform)
boring map. summons are broken, phoenix/frostprey/etc can't be dispelled (HAHA BISHOPS) but stun chance is laughable.. my skills are just plain awful in here and most kills are me running around with a bird. i can't land anything half the time

can any archer tell me what puppet does exactly? i've seen it turn around people/damage them nearby but that's about it.
Reply
Puppet should work the same way it does outside of PvP but with more HP (obviously). It's good to plant it because it reduces the damage you take (as if it matters) and because it doesn't trigger Power Guard and all of it's clones.

Really, you're casting it for damage and for classes that attack in a straight line (like Corsairs who try to hit your with RF instead of 8LE) it buys you a few precious seconds. For me, people forget they're attacking a Puppet sometimes which gives me a chance to Snipe them.
