Mysterious Anvil Question
#21
Joe Wrote:Extra extra bonus question. will an anviled equip get the other equip's effect, or vice versa? For example, would a reverse staff turned into a bain staff get the floaty effect, or the opposite, would a zak helm turned into an empress helm keep its floaty effect.

The Anvil is all about the looks. If you change the appearence to a Balrog weapon, you will get the same effect.

Ultra bonus question: Can you get "Set effects" from anvil'd items? Example, making your normal equipment have the looks of the Blizzard set. Will you get the 5 set effect if you anvil'd all 5 pieces?

The anvil only changes the looks of an item, nothing stat related is changed.

For example, if you changed one of the lvl 140 armor pieces into something else, it still counts as that lvl 140 armor piece, and still counts as part of that set; it just looks different.

I have seen this in KMS videos I believe, and I will be trying it when servers are back up.

On this topic, this is probably just a crazy rumor I heard, but someone said Anviled equipment loses expiration date, specifically useful on Dojo Gloves. Can someone debunk this?

I was under the impression that wouldn't work for obvious reasons, but I'll try it.

EDIT: It does not remove the expiration. Oh well, no loss.

I know it only changes the look, but what I'm wondering is if I would get the Blizzard effect above my head if I anvil'd a Hat, OA, Glove, Shoe, and Cape to the blizzard equips. As already mentioned previously, using an Anvil on the Dojo gloves gave the effect of the gloves.

Is it possible to Anvil a female thief top/bottom to make it look like the Empress thief overall? I'm guessing no though Sad

Don't know if you've had this question answered - but no, it does not count towards the set effect when using the appearance of a set item.
My dojo gloves look like falcon wing gloves, but it does not count towards the set effect.

he meant the effect glowing around the character if wearing all 5 after anvils, not the equipment set effect stats

Oh, that makes way more sense Biggrin Guess I should have read his entire question.
And yeah, that would work. Pretty sure that was answered, though.

think what you want, but according to basil, set effects (graphic ones) don't work

Which tier gloves is this? I've got the top 50 one but no effect. Is this #1 rank or top 10 rank?

What about the reverse? Like the 7th anni equips -- if you're fully decked out, you get an ostentatious floaty effect over your head. If you anvil part of that set, would the original graphic effect still appear?

...I was planning to experiment on my cannoneer, who's got the full set, but then I remembered: this is NXland, dammit.
