Chaos Scroll and Liar Tree probability rates
#1
Hey guys, I've been looking for chaos scrolls rates in order to finish some calculations comparing what's better: Scrolling or buying chaosed equips, as well as finding the chaos rates.

I realized that there's an extremely high chance that Liar Tree saps and Chaos Scrolls work the same way, thus I've worked with Liar Tree saps myself. However, with a lot of work and not a lot of time for mapling, I've been unable to get a high enough sample-rate to be certain on the rates for each probability. For example, I've not got a single 5-decrement or 5-increment. So, in order to get a good amount of samples, I need you guys to help me with some samples:

If you could be so kind to give your samples of Liar Tree Saps and Chaos Scrolls in this thread, I'll be a happy man. You will feel better as well, as you've helpt me.

I'm going to trust you guys, so please don't make any fake information of any Liar Tree Saps you haven't used, or any Chaos Scroll.

An example on how this works:

Also, thank you very much if you contribute. It'll help the community by finding out the rates of Chaos Scrolls. Who knows, maybe you'll be taking advantage of it in the future?

For your information, I've not parsed my own data yet...

just a note, you ought to cut out any trial that hits a 0 when a stat has < 5. there would be multiple possibilities if say, a 3 dex nose goes to 0: you could have hit -3, -4, or -5 but you have no way to tell which happened.

They do indeed work the same way by the way. I know cuz I experimented with Leaf Scrolling a while back, though I documented them all, all my screenshots are bunched together as they have no meaning to me now...

Based on experience (and observation) though, I know with a bit of certainty that chaos scrolls act on individual stats rather than whole items. For example, they can do anything from -5 to +5. That includes +0 and -0.

I also know that +2 and -2 are the most common, followed by 1, then 3, then 4, then finally 5 being the rarest. And yea, 5 is pretty rare, though it happens. There's several documented screenshots of Facestompers that have +5s.

I've had a nose stay at four for three slots, then go to 6, 8, do nothing, 11, 12, 11, and finish at either twelve or thirteen.

I got the feeling that 0 happens far more often than other numbers. I should have used a spreadsheet on all my noses so far.

Int nose.. +1 +1 +1 0 -1 +1 +1 +1 +1 0
Str nose #1... +2 -4 +2 +3 +2 +2 -2 +1 -2 -2
Str nose #2... -1 -1 -(all gone)
-4: 1
-2: 3
-1: 3
0: 2
+1: 8
+2: 4
+3: 1
& 1 uncertain (it removed at least 2, but the nose ran out of str)

I'll try to head over to Henesys and grab another one soon.

60% (6/10 noses) of the time, the 1st slot gives me nothing, if that helps.

+3 happened 2 times
-4 happened 6 times (failed nose)
+2 happened 3 times
+1 happened 4 times
-3 happened once
