GMs Strike first April's fools blow
#41
It requires a small rollback (Though I've been told that it isn't technically a rollback, so it probably isn't the right term to use, but oh well). Sometimes it happens before a server check, but not often. I think that's why they tell you to "log off safely". More often it happens when the server randomly crashes.

"Lost time" is probably closer, because after a certain point you're functioning entirely on the client and the server has stopped recieving info about you so when you log back in the server puts you where it had last recorded you being even when it should've moved you.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.

You are right in that they need to patch to fix this.

Quite honestly, I don't see how a simple patch would fix this. It would take far too long. They would need to significantly change the Skill.wz to prevent no delay. Changing the encryption would also work.

In the meantime, they "could" ban the hackers using it in obvious spots...

when you enter a map, your character is "saved" in this map. if you d\c regularly, the server returns you to whatever map it wants. however, when the server crash, you dont get regularly d\ced. the connection just disappears, so the server doesnt return you and technically you are still in that map.

happend to me twice in ACPQ, was quite funny. one time i did a 7 people match, lmao.
