The box. As it gets used, over time, does the internet box get weaker somewhat?

It's not so much the box itself, as it is the signal strength coming into the box. If the box is older, it can't transmit as much power as newer boxes therefor decreasing your internets speed.

Of course. As things are used more and more often, they corrode. Similar to gaming consoles, most will wear out over time. Some routers also gets weaker, which is why there's firmware upgrades that are downloadable. ;]

Last time I checked, you can't download hardware. Therefore, corrosion will always be an issue if you refuse to replace your hardware every so often.

Granted, better firmware usually means less glitches and/or better performance though xD
