[Notice] Daylight Savings Time Transition Maintenance Schedule
#1
Nexon Wrote:Attention Nexon Game players,

All Nexon Game servers will be going through a server maintenance on Sunday, March 8, 2009 from 12AM to 6AM PST (GMT -8). All games will be unavailable at this time so please log out safely to avoid any interruptions on your account. During this time we will be transitioning our servers to Daylight Standard Time (DST). This maintenance is important in maintaining the integrity of our database. Please note this time frame may be subject to change. More information may be provided when available.

Thank you for your patience and we apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused.

A few things I thought of when I saw this:

1. They have a daylight savings time maintance, but no server check announcement to fix CWKPQ?
2. Its more like 5 hours as at that time of week at that time (Sunday Morning 1-2 am), the server is ALWAYS laggy and no one can do anything like cc, talk, whisper, track, etc. anyways, so lol. Good on them for kicking everyone off during that time! And hopefully they fix it, lol.

Retalion: You can't pull up a fix for CWKPQ out of thin air instantaneously. They have to find the cause of it, then fix it, etc.

But yeah...6 hours? I thought it would just be a couple hours max.

I know, but in past times, they would make an announcement telling us they're aware of it, and that they're working on fixing it. Nothing came up this time (least not yet), hinting that perhaps they dont know about it yet. Then again, I see another thread here titled along the lines of "NxProse-on 2nd stage glitch" so I'll take a look at that.

Well, this is also not just MS servers... it's all of NexAm's servers. The last specific MS one that I could find still lasted 1h40, but that was in 2007 {linke}. Maple has grown just slightly since then. And who knows, maybe a few glitches might get fixed as well.

5 hours actually (because of fall back, spring forward), but still, they may be subject to change, like this quote says?

For just basically changing the time, that's a while. It only takes me 2 minutes to change my time.

Changing to DST shouldn't take that long, really. All they need to do is add/change a number.

*Well, all they /should/ need to do, anyway. And if not, they ought to clean up their code.

Did anyone try buying a cash item that expires in non-existent time last year? (as in the item expires Sunday, 2-3am) I wonder if that makes the item last forever.

current_time >= expired_time
I don't think they'd take risks with just ==, heh.
