Summer Games Done Quick 2015 (July 26 - August 1)
#1
Sorry about the last minute post, I completely lost track of when SGDQ was going down. Anyhow..

It's that time once more, the time where the speedrunning community comes together to play games casually very quickly and raise money for charity in the process! Taking place from July 26 through August 1 in St. Paul, watch as many of your favorite speedrunners rush through games in an attempt to raise money for Medecins Sans Frontieres (otherwise known as Doctors Without Borders) and other shenanigans not limited to but including:
  • Tetris!
  • Big the Cat's story in Sonic Adventure!
  • Dying of dysentery in Oregon Trail!

Over the years, the GDQ events have cumulatively raised over $1m USD for various charities such as MSF and the Prevent Cancer Foundation, and there are a few ways you can show support. Either through a direct donation in which you can put your money towards various raffle prizes and bid wars, or by buying shirts from TheYetee who put $3 of all purchases towards a mass donation.

You can watch the stream either on Twitch or the main website at
http://www.twitch.tv/gamesdonequick
https://gamesdonequick.com/

You can find the schedule at
https://gamesdonequick.com/schedule

And you can buy shirts at TheYetee

EDIT: Humble Bundle is also selling select games at a discount for the duration of the event.

Not really surprised since he's more or less fallen out of the speedrunning scene.

I also forgot about SGDQ starting today and I even set a countdown timer on my computer.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting him to do a run, but I was naively optimistic Frown

The only game I'm remotely interested in is blue 151, that's that's because the runner and commentators are funny as pomegranate and I somewhat know the run, but it's like 3 AM :[

Good cause anyhow ^~^

Crash Bandicoot 2. Never watch it. Holy god. It's almost as bad as the AGDQ2014 Fire Emblem run.

EDIT:

Tetris block once again fucking godlike. They also were able to get Kan out there!
