Wearing an Android Heart by itself.

I've received some pretty different answers regarding this.
I have a scrolled heart from a past event and a character that needs an attack boost. I know that you can do this (or at least unequip the Android and keep just the heart for stats) with the STAR's heart.

My question is: Is it possible to equip an Android Heart merely for its stats and gain that bonus with the heart by itself?

(It's a Childhood Friend Heart, if there's a special restriction in that case)
