i can tell you how that'd go myself.
"no, first i'd have to make some option for you to subscribe to the board, then i'd have to scour every announcement every time one is posted just to see if anything worthwhile is posted. the other option is giving force-read options to someone in the community who may very well leave later, grief, or simply won't report every news because he won't find them, so then i'd have to give that power to anyone who subscribes to that board, which is a terrible terrible idea.

Hurray, it has been announced that the event will run in Europe and Australia too, from August 29th to September 8th. I guess i'll have to bump this thread back up at the end of the month.
