Update from conference today along with other information provided.

Spoiler
Call me a cynic but I'm pretty convinced US intelligence knows exactly what happened to that jetliner. However, they have their own reasons for only cooperating with the search using civilian sources and what other countries' militaries are volunteering (I doubt anyone is fully revealing the extent of their coverage).

So I heard this was a media distraction to draw attention away from the situation in Ukraine. I don't think planes just go missing with 239 people on board.

Not saying it's aliens, but we shouldn't rule out any (even the most ridiculous) option. Also, it's rather suspicious how 'big' the involvement of the US organisations is and I highly suspect the intelligence agencies know more than they admit at this point. Remember the US has used the guise of using their own military as a way to devise the public (to cover up) the real reason of why they are present in certain areas, they have done this multiple times in the past and I fear more often than we know already. (Again, not saying this option is fact).

My mother has some conspiracy nuts on facebook linking 8 of the Chinese passengers with a D.o.D. contract involving some type of new stealth technology. They all got patents on it which gave them 20% of the cut and the head honcho didn't like that so he had them killed off.
I honestly believe it was something as simple as a mechanical failure that resulted in an extreme change of pressure. I'm also in agreement with SaptaZapta;, we have the NSA and satellite images of almost every square foot of the world, and it suddenly cuts off just as they were turning around? I feel like they should be, if not already investigating the area that these images clearly point too.

I don't know why I am taking the time to respond to this, but you don't really believe this do you? Anyone who seriously keeps up with current news is not going to be distracted from Ukraine by a missing plane. You know people's attention spans can follow more than one thing at once, right?
