Saying this more for your safety than anything else, really. I've seen it catch a lot of people. Oh, woops. I remembered that Multis were allowed, I didn't realize that what I was doing could be considered multi abuse though. I won't do that from now on.
I traded my advent calendar items from the last couple of years over to my main, but that isn't really the same thing I guess.
Anyway, this crimbo is definitely worth doing. monsters on level 2 drop campground items which persist through ascensions. one gives free smithing 5 times a day, another increases the effectiveness of pulverizing, one allows you to create a copy of an item that you cook for free, one allows you to get some materials back when cocktailcrafting, and another lets you record accordion thief buffs. you can switch them out without the item being consumed, once a day. it's badass.

I farmed level 1 today since I only had 400 adventures (and am not about to spend millions of meat on whosits). if what everyone believes is true and your robots recharge once a day, I'll have my belt tomorrow!
(disclaimer: I did buy 100 whosits but I swear that's all I'm buying)

Oh dear god. New robots became available today, the Toybot, Dancebot, Punchbot and Safetybot. Considering I filled my KRAMPUS factory with Makerbots, I don't know what to do!
EDIT: oh, they aren't anything too special:
Might end up making a Toybot.

if Supercold is gonna be a thing from now on, Safetybot might be good. Does the pots from the Dancebot increase whosit drop amounts?
Otherwise, once you're done with the content, I guess replace everything with Toybots.

adventuring on level 2 and 3 is... ridiculously hard and not newbie friendly at all, I don't like it.
I gave up after using up loads of my resources for just a few adventures, and decided to sell my batteries/whosits in the mall. got 3 million meat in one go. which is more than enough to buy everything in the crimbo content, with the exception of the Black Box. Gonna sell all my whosits from now on and build up my meat stores.

For the upper level bears, use prismatic damage. There's a few good sources of that, and it destroys them just fine. If you're currently rolling in the meat profits, buy some prismatic wads and use em, then you got 30 turns of bear smashin'. There are other, better sources but I can't recall them all right now.
EDIT: Ah yes, also the malevolent medallion. There's Hodgman's trenchcoat too, but only so many people have that one.

Speaking of prismatic damage, I just bought the warbear laser beacon, which does prismatic damage every turn, increasing as your disco momentum increases (for Disco Bandits, of course)
Quote:Cool lasers in every color of the rainbow shine down from space, bathing your foe in their grooviness, and dealing 11 (+13) (+12) (+11) (+13) damage.
This seems like it will be useful.
of course against actual warbears on level 2 or 3, i'll be dead long before I can set up disco momentum.

Turns out the warbears on level 2 and 3 gain levels the more of them you defeat, until they become impossible. This resets on rollover. Good to know.
I'm running -250 ML right now (which does work) and after busting 55 bears, they now twoshot me through even that.

I just remembered that prismatic damage wasn't even working for me, with the stuff I had equipped I should have been doing 30+ prismatic damage per hit, but my attacks against all the warbears on level 2 were doing 10 damage, including the prismatic damage. every bit of damage I did had a hard-cap of 10 damage, I had to use insta-kill skills and items to kill any of them.
I just can't figure out a strategy that actually works against them. Even if I do manage to survive against them, I can't do any damage to actually kill them.

Well for starters, get as much negative ML as you can. Safety trip headphones, HOA book, they all work wonders. Second of all, your damage to the warbear officers is gonna be capped no matter what you do. One strategy is to purposefully nerf your own stats, making the negative ML that much more effective. Then a single shot of prismatic damage will kill them. There's ways! Just gotta be clever.
However, as I said above, after a point they become impossible for the day.
