I instantly ate the candies I got for defeating the developer, and my health pool didn't move an inch. How rude. I can't kill satan with only 1560 health!

Make sure you have your basic spellbook, an upgraded glove (I preferred pink over red in most situations, but red does add a lot of damage), and items from the Monkey Wizard and Octopus King (upgraded monkey staff and octopus crown with jaspers).

It's easier without the boots of introspection.

If you keep running forward and then teleporting back to the entrance you can stack them up that way. If you miss the chest, just teleport back and jump back up.
