@xparasite9:
Well, he is right. Your argument on mini dungeon is contradictory with the social aspect. I wouldn't meet more new people if I were to stay inside mini dungeon almost the whole time, would I? Would be different if I were outside. More chance to meet people.

I'm being sincere here, though.

I have memories of training in mini-dungeons with full parties. And when I wasn't I would go outside and find people to party with.

Words Wrote:Newtie mini dungeon was useless, just as many other mini dungeons were. I think they released a better training spot before the release of mini dungeons so no one would be at Newties. Skele mini dungeon was just as bad, and a bad argument for xparasite. Archers and thieves had no chance there unless they were training with a DK, level 150+, or HP washed because otherwise they'd 1hit you.

xparasite is just using any argument he can, despite being contradictory to the rest of the other arguments he has used. Just the previous post talks about classes being necessary and a way to socialize and then this talks about mini dungeon that for me ruined social aspect. After they were released I couldn't find Newtie/Skele parties anymore at ch1, I didn't meet new people and after a couple of months I had my first prolonged break because the game got boring.

I'll have to agree with parasite here. Although dependency is something normally frowned upon, it did force a social level aspect in training, rather than all classes being the jack of all trades. Skelegon/newtie mini dungeons were the best of the best for at least 6 months during their release, predominately the summer of 2010. It certainly was less stressful for me. I will digress that in-town recruitments were sociable, but really all the people who genuinely wanted to train migrated to the entrance of the mini dungeon rather than the town. That aspect didn't change as much and it was finally refreshing you could avoid ks wars.

For me personally 2009-2010 was the best time of the game for me, not 2006-2008, which by far was the worst.

Two of the reasons i was driven away from maplestory is the drop reduction depending on your level and the total gutting of all the original classes in a misguided attempt to balance them out.

The monster drop system they have in place from what i understand was added to deter botters and hackers, but that was rendered obsolete by now and they still did not remove it or alter how it worked, i always enjoyed looking for certain items for my class, and if i destroyed it using a dark scroll i could always go back and find another, i could not do that anymore, nor could i search for really hard to find recepies like the AB ring from monsters like macateons, the maps were far too much trouble for many people to bother making the trip, and the exp was considered terrible so there was often a map with nobody else there, it was an ideal place for someone looking to improve their character for free instead of trying to level up or make money to buy it instead.

The classes, i outright deleted the client a patch before they ruined the explorers they way they did, they were unique classes, had their own strengths and weaknesses, and were not for everyone, if it seemed weak and you could not keep up with your friends using an explorer, just don't play it, it's not the right class for you, but nooo, too much whining and complaining from the wrong people and nexon bent over backwards and gave them easy mode like they wanted, now they game is worse off than pre-BB ever was, V.90 was good, the mages had been buffed and were welcome in any group or able to solo if they so wished, each class were given new or changed skills, nothing overboard but they were STILL unique in their own way and that made the people playing those classes enjoy them even more.

The people who "want" the old MapleStory back I guess don't realize how much change they would lose and then in, oh let's say, a month, "I want New MS back!!!".

Pre-BB is useless without my old friends.

Exactly how I feel every time I take a trip down nostalgia road.
