A Christmas Worth Remembering
#1
The Nightmare Before Kwanzaa
Ellinia Academy of the Performing Arts was preparing for the warmth of the holidays. Long wooden hallways that withstood the test of time were dressed with Christmas lights and mistletoe hung from the ceiling. Two girls walked casually around the school, their faces were young and fresh. Overjoyed at finishing all their exams, they looked forward to their winter break. Samantha was a cute girl who was around 5’8 and had long brunette hair that ended in stylish curls. She would blush in embarrassment when people told her that she resembled Nicole Lapin because she didn’t find herself that attractive. “I can’t believe this semester is over,” exclaimed Samantha as she looked over at her companion.

Caroline opened her mouth to let out a childish groan, “Are you kidding me? This semester was a freaking killer! I don’t know why the hell I have to learn Physics! Physics! When I signed up to be a Fire Proficiency Major, I didn’t expect to take all this projectile motion crap! Wait, I have my study stack right here.”

Caroline pulled out a thick packet of practice problems, “Hmm… let’s see, if you shoot a fire arrow at 4m/s at what time will it hit a Mushmom 1 mile away (the Mushmom is on a ledge that is shaped like a right angle triangle with two sides both being 2m long) and racing towards you at a speed of 400m/s? That’s a tough one! How about never! Because you could probably be killed over one hundred times before you could even figure out the answer.”

Samantha giggled, “Wait until your junior year when you have to start your Poison Proficiency half! You have to learn Organic Chemistry!”

Caroline tugged her hair, “Ugh! I should have just become a Bishop like everyone else! It would have been so much easier. It’s all a bunch of therapy and “I love you” crap!”

Samantha frowned at her friend’s accusation of her major, “Hey! That “I love you crap” isn’t as easy as it seems. Do you know how hard it is for us to be accepted into mainstream society?”

Caroline looked at her with wide eyes, “Wait are you being-”

Samantha stuck out her tongue, “Just teasing you.”

Caroline laughed at Samantha’s mischievousness and decided to stop her whining, “Besides, this Christmas I’m going to get myself a hot boy-toy.” Caroline grabbed on to a banister from the second floor and wrapped her body around it a couple of times.

“You whore,” stated Samantha as she watched her friend swing her fiery hair around and flash her bright grin which brought out her attractive freckles. “By the way, you know Trent is supposedly holding a crazy Christmas party tomorrow?”

Caroline was so shocked she almost fell off the banister, “Trent? You mean that nerdy—” Caroline froze in between her sentence. She became slightly perplexed and her eyes went out of focus. Samantha quickly rushed to her friend and guided her off the banister and brought her safely to the floor, “Caroline, are you alright?”

Caroline groggily replied, “Yeah I’m fine. I just spaced out for a second there.”

Samantha laughed and in a deep sugary tone asked, “Thinking about what a sexy man-hunk Trent is?” Caroline blushed bright red to the degree that her face matched the color of her fiery red hair. “N-no… I-I just remembered I forgot to buy presents for my family. And I even bought this cute Maple Claws Hat. I’ve used so many of the presents on myself that I feel super guilty.” Samantha inwardly grinned and decided to change the subject. Unbeknownst to the two femme fatales, Trent heard the whole conversion from the first floor.

Trent was scrawny and wore thick coke bottle glasses. He didn’t participate in any sports and played Victoria Maplecraft whenever he had free time. With a nerdy sneer he began to laugh manically, unfortunately he coughed on a giant hairball. “Just as I planned,” he wheezed out as he made his grand exit.
For Greater Justice!
The classroom was dark and had a very spooky characteristic to it. Trent barely walked a mile and was wheezing for air. As he entered the classroom, he could make out two silhouetted figures shrouded in the darkness. “Trent… how nice to meet you,” stated one of the shadowy figures in a very sinister tone. “Trent, come to the dark side. You belong here,” beckoned the other shadow and offered his hand invitingly. Trent slapped the hand down and turned on the lights. The two figures ended up resembling Darth Maul and Darth Vader from Star Wars.

Trent started fuming, “Guys. I told you to stop pineappleing around with the Casual Synapse Chamber. Look, I walk away for five minutes and you guys can’t even sit still and wait for me.”

“Jeez, don’t make such a big deal out of it man,” replied the figure who resembled Darth Maul. He accusingly pointed to Darth Vader and stated, “Andrew was the one who wanted to test out all the possibilities.” Darth Vader simply shrugged and walked towards the CS chamber. After putting in a five dollar bill, he pressed a couple of buttons and he returned to his original form. A four foot, five inch teenager with braces and pimples that were not only on his face but also could be seen leading down to his neck.

After Andrew came out, he punched Darth Maul in the arm, “Gee. Thanks for snitching on me. pimento.” Darth Maul then proceeded to put $5 into the CS chamber and turned into an obese teen with fat spooling out of his XL shirt.

“Andrew you punch like a pineappleing girl,” exclaimed Dale.

Dale replied, “Well at least I don’t have man-tits like you, you pineappleing b-”

“Hey cut it out,” exclaimed Trent. “We’re a team. A good team. The best pineappleing team there is. Now why don’t you guys make-up and let bygones be bygones?” Dale and Andrew nodded in agreement, “Sorry man,” said Andrew.

“Don’t worry about it,” replied Dale.

“Alright. Great. Now about the plan-”
Konk Konk Konk
“Dude what the hell was that?” asked Dale.

“I didn’t hear anything,” responded Trent.
KLANG KLANG KLANG
“I think it’s coming from the CS chamber!” exclaimed Andrew.

“It’s probably the astro-physic mechanists doing NASA crap next door,” replied Trent. Hey you crazy—”
Someone help me please. I’m dying in here…
“Holy pomegranate!” exclaimed Andrew as he quickly made his way to the chamber. On the front door there was a little hole slit to see what was inside. Andrew was absolutely horrified at what he saw. There was a man with a long haggard beard, strapped to the bottom of the machine with various needles injected into him intravenously. As the man talked, blood was carried from his body and went into the tubes which led into a circular mixing flask which combined all the blood to produce a gaseous substance.

“Dude, you put pineappleing Santa inside there!” shouted Andrew. “I can’t believe it. This is, so sick.”

“Okay first of all, that is not Santa, its Grendel the Really Old,” explained Trent. “You know the President of our University? The old guy who does nothing but float there in mid-air all day while he watches us- well we, I don’t know- study our asses off.”

Andrew cried out, “Dude this is a criminal offense. I don’t think I can go through with this.”

Trent tried to get Andrew to relax, “Hey, its okay. Look, I’m going to go to the CS chamber right now and I’ll fix everything.” Trent put in a five dollar bill and fifty cents into the machine and pressed a blue button, “I wish that Andrew would agree to my every order.”

Andrew’s eyes which were originally filled with fear eventually went white as he became unconscious. When he regained composure, he clapped his hands and smiled, “Let’s get this show on the road!”

Trent smiled, “That’s the spirit!”

Dale looked on, slightly horrified that Trent had just brainwashed their best friend. This wasn’t a “team” as much as it was a dictatorship. And because the machine was created by Trent, only he knew the entire special access sequences that were necessary in order to operate on the machine.

Trent knew that Dale was seriously questioning whether or not he had lost his mind. Trent turned his friend and stated, “Dale. You’re a magical engineer just like I am. You know the bullpomegranate that we had to go through. We are the basis of magic. A spell is able to be used quickly and effectively because we design the weapons and the potions that everyone depends on. And yet, Nexon has made it absolutely impossible for us to reach our full potential without extra help. There are almost no magical engineers anymore because society has shunned us, disgraced us, and pushed our faces into the mud while they fling the spells that we created.”

Trent could see that Dale was slowly beginning to agree with him. Trent decided to push even further, “When you immigrated here from Southperry, you were promised a better life than one just devoted to killing snails and being stuck in a poor-deprived island that had no chance of advancing. We left our parents. We left our friends. And we left our loved ones. We came here for better opportunities and a better life. And then we got axed. Nexon decided that magical engineers were no longer necessary. They gave away more scholarships, better housing, and even better jobs to Bishops. They stole our novel ideas for potions and weapons, ultimately mass producing them for common consumption.”

Dale asked, “Trent, where are you going to go with this? Where are your plans going to lead you?”

Trent smiled and replied, “Dale. This is only the beginning of the end. Nexon stole from us what I stole from Nexon. Nexon using our ancient formulas managed to harvest the desires and wishes of young children around Victoria. The wishes that cry out, “I want to be popular! I want to be loved!” The power of these desires power a trans-dimensional magical wardrobe called Consumption Spoiler (CS). In a similar manner, my Casual Synapse Chamber is able to brainwash people, cause transformations, and change the world into a better place. Dale, I’m going to rebel against Nexon and set things straight. It’s not money that should determine our potential, but our love and passion for what we decide to put our time into. There will eventually be a time when I will be able to solve the riddle behind the CS so that the world will no longer need money in order to fulfill their desires. Dammit Dale, it’s going to be a perfect world where everyone is happy.”

Dale felt reassured and smiled, “I never doubted you for one second.”

Trent replied, “I know Dale. I know. But just to make sure-” And with that Trent pushed the blue button one more time.
