The game itself needs some buffs.

It sure is fun running through Leafre, taking two minutes to get through half of it.

The town lag and portal lag is unbelievable. If the removed every event/duplicate npc(Gaga, Cassandra, Maple Admin etc.) and put them on one map accsessed anywhere by Demensional(sp) portal, there would be much less lag. Also, there should be one market npc in every town: One npc w/ a tab for pots, equips, etc.

Hey guys, we heard there's been some instances of lag since Tempest, and generally the game's code is outdated, so we're releasing two brand new classes!

Aquarium is the best town ever!!
Why? Because they put gaga/admin/cassandra in a different map, so I have no insane town lag there. I pretty much placed all my characters there for this reason. The only exception is when I need to go to leafre for events that want me to kill monsters near my level.

^ Thats why I love aqua now LOL

Maybe I shouldn't be posting about this here or maybe it was mentioned, but i hate having the stupid codex turn off on me every so often when I log off or DC. No matter how long I might have it on, eventually when I'm offline during the rest of the day while sleeping after midnight it'll turn off on me on its own.

You can't choose both, because as we know Nexon would rather work on the "Y button" issues like graphical bugs, dialogue, and sound effects, as opposed to the bugs that actually affect game play like CWKPQ, Skill Book related quests like The Crusade, fixes for skills from new classes, etc. While the Y button is a problem, I feel like it does not deserve to be up there with actual problems like the other 4 mentioned in the OT.

Fixing the Y key (and N key for that matter) really shouldn't be a project even close to the same level of challenge as loading times.

For me it's mostly annoying because they've done a 100% flip on how it works, so every time I hit it at the wrong time, I get the opposite of what I want. It's not that much more effort to just go to the 'yes' option with arrow keys, but it is a lot more effort to have to restart the entire NPC chat over because yes suddenly means cancel.

God, I must be the only person who never used Y/N and just stuck with the arrow keys.

The lag (and the loading screen) is much, much higher priority.

I never did. I always hear sob stories about Y-ing out of maps...

It was always hilarious when you'd have someone waiting for a zak run in the room with you, and you can tell the other person is just holding y to spam the squad request... they'd beat you inside, and you'd immediately /find them to find out they were back out by the door....because they kept holding y and got warped out by the NPC inside. LOL

Welp, they've acknowledged that there might be an issue, and there's now a thread on the forums to report any outstanding instances of lagging. It might turn something out before the patch tomorrow.

Before tonight, you mean? I doubt it, it'll probably be fully addressed/attempted to be fixed for kaiser's patch.

Shhh. Let me have my misplaced optimism. But I think it's pretty unlikely. Everytime someone has brought up an issue today, Hime or someone will say, "oh, but you know, they're all so busy with Luminous". Or some such thing.

I take back what I said at the beginning of the topic. The game loads much faster now since they added that Mushroom loading screen. MS now loads faster than Vindictus.

It does however, still take twice as long to load MS than it does for my PC to load up Diablo 3 (Last I attempted at least. Haven't played in a while.)

Anyone care to give me an explanation as to why towns with more NPC tend to lag far worse. I can't seem to make sense of that.

It's not more or less NPC.
Aqua main town doesn't lag me at all, for example. But if I set foot in the small room there that contains only Cassandra, Maple Admin, and Gaga, the game freezes entirely (on my older computer).
It's these three NPCs. It has been shown that the reason they're so laggy is that they have an incredibly long script that chooses their appearance and animation based on the current date and time (it's so incredibly long because it contains every event we ever had or are planned to have), and it is read very frequently (every second, was it?) to check how to display them.

It kind of sounds like a monkey did the coding for these NPCs.

And that's why the town lag today is worse than the town lag during legend patch.
