Double Uppercut: not so interesting?

If you think about it, if you hit an already stunned monster with DU, both hits will have the critical opportunity, and at the same time continue the stun. That's exactly how I use it. I use backspin blow>Double Upper. It gives twice the chance of a critical, without having to do BackSpin Blow>FlashFish>BackspinBlow>FlashFist. The combo I tend to use on single targets is BackSpinBlow>DoubleUpper>FlashFist>Repeat. It seems to maximize the amount of criticals you can get with the two, and gives Backspin Blow's cooldown a chance to wear off before using it again.

Other than that - I didn't really use it in second job. There were more places to train where you can mob and use sommersault kick, than Double Upper. So, personally, double upper didn't get really amazing until after Critical Mastery was maxed.

Yea, that works fine in 3rd job. The TS's main point is about 2nd job though, before Stun Mastery is gained.

You have a point there...
I mean,if you can't do CSP>BSB in a string-
BSB would still be good to max 2nd.

What I'm getting at is,if you leave DU at one,it could serve as a link between CSP,and BSB,since it's easier to come out with a DU right after CSP.

It'd sorta work like this: CSP(pretty much leaving the mob half dead),Do a forward-jump DU(gets the mob behind you),then mop up the remaining monsters with a BSB.

Though it would work[in theory],it would require you to be able to hit about 4 buttons in a fluent string.

But by the time you max CSB(which should be lvl48-ish),you would hardly need any compound combos to kill monsters. Most of the mobs you'd be training on by then will only require, basically,a charged CSP,and an SSK.

Also,by the time you WOULD be needing compund combos to take out monsters(around the 60's,maybe-),you'll probably have 15sp on BSB,and considering that CSP will be even STRONGER in the 60's,you'd hardly need BSB.

BSB is more of an improv. skill, when you don't have the time to wait for CSP to charge,or if you already used DU and have a mob coming at you.

I went and maxed DU first, and never regretted it. I use screw punch much more anyways and DU is a good way to get a 1HKO while running along. Backspin doesn't seem to help that much in second job. If you mess up when turning around it is just a waste of time. I also seem to screw punch and then SSK twice and kill a mob instead of screw punch then backspin and then SSK. Backspin concurrently is slowing me down, unless there is mob directly behind me when I finished the mob in front, but level 1 backspin worked fine for that.

I use backspin more than DU, mostly because I am dealing with large mobs most of the time (eg truckers and selkies.)
