Can Vegas' be combined with cs Shield/Protect?

Let's say I want to scroll a staff with a 10% scroll but also use a vega (making it 30%), plus use a shield/protect on it so the slot doesn't go with a fail and a guardian* scroll if there's a fail. Is this possible? If so, how would it work? I remember trying this with a vega+Pam thong but I couldn't get it to work (perhaps I was doing something wrong). Thanks for the help!

Well, Since your using a vega to turn a 10% into a 30%, you won't need a protection scroll, It only increases the chance of success, doesn't add a boom-rate.

I would assume a shield-scroll would work fine, since you use that on the item before you use the 30% in this case. I think it would also work with a WS if you had that.

I meant that cs item which prevents the scroll from being used if there's a fail, I guess it's not called a 'protection' scroll but something else which eludes me now. And I guess I was doing it wrong before with vegas plus pam thong. I tried to use the vega BEFORE the Pam thong. How silly of me.

I don't know about that then. My assumption is that it would save the 10%, but burn up the vega if it failed.

Pam's Song, not thong. And Pam's do get used after the scrolling attempt (including Vega), if at all. I think it was just a bug that they didn't work.

And there is no reason they shouldn't work together. You're supposed to first apply all your protections (which put little marks in the corners of the equip's inventory slot), and then use the Vega.

Item description for the guardian scroll says "using this on a piece of equipment will allow you to keep the next scroll used on it".
So, you use it on the equip, not the scroll.

i have done this before with spike scrolls, you have to use all the protections on the item, which will gain symbols on it that affect the next scroll that will be used, i can't remember if the guardian/whatever that let you keep your scroll had a symbol (i think it was a shield).

Guardian scrolls are used on the equip, not scroll.
Just double clarifying. No idea if they work with Vegas, but I would assume so.

I thought Vega worked on the scroll and not the equip. Lucky day scrolls are used on the equip and not the scroll so their effects should stack.
