I went in this movie with average expectations. I liked the first one, but it was just pure action, not really logical, and wasn't perfect.
This one though, 100x better than the first. You're much more involved, there's more emotion in this one, an actual story that doesn't suck. It's a simple story mind you but it's that simplicity that makes you PART of the movie.
The references in this one with the "Action" cast was clever and it feels like everyone got a fluid part, nothing feels forced, besides one thing. And everyone including Arnold has a big part.
My only complaint is they got rid of Jet Lee for some asian chick, who, maybe f`ucking cute, just feel's so goddamn out of place. I felt like she was going to backstab someone up to the last fight sequence. I also dislike this whole "emotional" emphasis on lonelyness they put. It's got maybe 6 total minutes dedicated to it the entire movie, but it just felt so unnecessary. He's a mercenary, it's not a really popular life, you wh`ore yourself out for services outside of f`ucking, we get it.
It's a fun movie and has a good balance of humor with overflowing action. The commercials don't give it enough credit imo
