It's a reoccurring glitch that's been coming back like a bad STD for the past couple of years or so? It's nothing new.
Every so often the storage system in Maple freaks out and deletes items randomly. I would personally avoid using it for anything even remotely valuable because you never know when it happens as it's been happening for a very long time now. I'd estimate it happens a few times a year, at least that people are aware of usually.
