Firefox randomly stops loading pages.
#1
Lately Firefox has had this problem where it'll randomly stop loading pages and I have to close everything and reopen to get it to work again. No, this is not an issue with my internet connection and everything else works fine, and if I open Internet Explorer everything will work fine. Anyone else had this problem and have a fix? I'm on Firefox 7.0.1

I have that problem occasionally too.. It shows that it's 'loading' but it'll never actually load the page.

I had it once yesterday and once today.

Try resetting your settings.
Disable some add-ons.

Check for unusual stuff in settings, etc.

This is just a quick brainstorm.

Opera encounters the same thing periodically and they don't even share any code. Odd.

It has to be an add-on, I am running 10.0a1 and am not getting any problems.

Rumning 7.0.1, but no loading problems here. You either installed some add-on that's screwing with the browser, or you need to reinstall Firefox. Worst comes to worst it'll somehow fix itself.

I already reinstalled Firefox. The add-ons I have that aren't disabled are:

Adobe Acrobat
Download Updater
Google Update
some Java thing
Nexon Game Controller
Shockwave Flash
Shockwave for Director
Silverlight plug-in

All have random numbers after them. I don't know where they came from or what they do, but they're there. Help me =[

I have the exact same problem as you, and I too have to restart everything to get it to work.

However, this doesn't happen on my laptop. I'm guessing it must be an add-on.

Same problem here, Firefox 4.01

Funny thing is, this only happens to specific sites (poor coding? bad server?). For example this never happens to me to southperry.net.

Irony is southperry is one of the ones it happens to me most often with Opera, but once one site begins doing it almost all of them do.

I think opera's is a cache corruption issue cause I have no plugins or addons of any form in it.

Yah I have it sometimes as well. Earlier this morning I couldn't close out of any of tabs which was odd. I just closed the firefox process and it worked okay afterwards.

The pages I'm having problems loading are wowhead.com, mangareader.com, mangafox.com, and my guild's website.
