How? The soundtrack from OoT3D is just N64's OST. You can easily get that from the interwebs.

I don't even use my Wii a lot, could go for a Motion+ and maybe try out SS

Heavily compressed 1998 quality mp3's vs live recordings of fully orchestrated music. Music that was designed to be played through a n64 craptacular sound system, or originally meant to be lsitened to live. Yeah, theres no way the ocarina soundtrack could ever lose out to this. /sarcasm
The only thing that OoT's music could ever possibly hope to have over this is that horrific nostalgia that people have for a game thats far outlived it's actual quality.

That's not nostalgic, that's blatant fanboyism.
You're assuming the orchestrated music is going to suck ass, when it's not even out yet and no one's listened to it not even you, compared to music that was deliberately designed around a home console.

LOL, now it all makes sense!
Plus he's just lying to himself if that's truly the case. How can you be nostalgic over a game that's only been out for a couple months!?

Uhhh.. Minish Cap.. Phantom.. Spirit Tracks.. Twilight Princess..
Yep.. didn't play any Zelda games before OoT3D..

I'm just assuming that video game style music will be superior to orchestrated music.. it usually is in my opinion.

It's the same style. It'll be like listening to the second credits theme from Ocarina of Time 3D added by Mahito Yokoto rather than the Hyrule Field theme done in the 1998 version of the game.

It's really just the same Zelda music (Note : "Same" used very liberally here), but done with real instruments, rather than digital samples of instruments.

Old video game music (8-bit, 16-bit, midi) were good because of the potential they held. Composers and programmers, made up for lack of good samples with good composition. The fact that they're orchestrating the music removes those boundaries. That's the reason why great composers like Uematsu, Shimomura, and Mitsuda broke off from Square enix and founded their own studios, because the limitations in music aren't there anymore.

Yeah, no difference there. The game version is obviously superior. Rolleyes

(I mean, I love video game music, but saying that the original is going to be better than something done with actual instruments, especially when it's from an older game...)

Is actually attending said concert. Rolleyes Booked early since I missed out on "More Friends" a couple years back. Yeah, I'm a sucker for Orchestrated renditions of ... well most things actually.

Anyway, that said, seeing as I already have 3 Wiimotes (enough) and one has the motion plus, I don't think I'll spring on this set. Of course, I'm also assuming I'd get the CD copy somehow for attending the thing. Granted, back on the More Friends thing, the only way to get that performance that was done in the states was to import it; so no promises.

The CD is included in both the solo-game and Game+Wiimote bundle. If you're buying skyward sword (possibly only at and around the launch), you'll get the Orchestrated CD with it.

I put in a preorder for it, it said only the first batch will include the soundtrack. That will probably mean preorder or get zip with the usual hype Zelda games get.
