Just finished taking a shower and was throwing this around in my head.
In your opinion, do you believe there's a correlation between a person's confidence and ambition, or none at all?

Well you need confidence to have ambition.

The way I see it:
Ambitious - I want to do something
Confident - I can do something
They're related but not mutually exclusive*
*I heard Eos say that it sounded cool...
Anyway. Let's say I wanna ask a girl out.
I can be confident and think/know she'll say yes. But not be ambitious enough to do it. Or can be ambitious enough to do it.
I can be unconfident and think maybe she will say yes but maybe not. I could still be ambitious and try anyway, or I could be both unconfident and unambitious and and do nothing.
They're connected but not...Totally.

I see ambition as the drive you need to get something done. It doesn't take a confident person to have a little drive just something he/she either wants to change or improve in their life. I'd say that in this case ambition can drive confidence in the case you start succeeding and becoming more confident in your own abilities. In this case ambition >>> confidence.
On the other end, I can also see confidence driving ambition in the sense of pushing yourself even further. A person knows that he/she has the abilities needed to accomplish something and they feel confident they can make EVEN better of themselves. In this case confidence >>> ambition.
I was a computer nerd originally in highschool. It's initially what I wanted to do but figured out by the end of everything the work was far too monotonous for me and well... needed something different. I had a growing interest in electrical work(residential initially) but I wasn't the best nor was I confident in my abilities to get a job relatively quick. So... I went to school for it to gain my confidence in the field.
Ambition >>> Confidence
Also wasn't a people person... worked in retail to support myself while taking courses... became unbelievably chatty and effective in sales coming up from someone who was initially hired to be a cashier and mop floors.
Ambition >>> Confidence
I'll flash forward a couple years since I'm all gradumicated now. I became pretty proficient in my knowledge of electrical/electronics and became a lab tech at UL. Also became a part time instructor from the very same school I graduated from. I'm not done yet though... I'm sure I can get higher still.
Confidence >>> ambition
Summing up, they push eachother depending on the circumstances and the person you are or at least that's how it worked for me.
(Too much life story here for me)
Edit: Took too long to type that...

I know I can do everything I want to do. Where does this put me?
