On the debate about DPM between NLs and BMs...
#1
Well, pre-BB NLs were clearly better with SE, but how is it now after BB?

Sharp Eyes was changed, and new formulas were introduced.

I'd personally think that BMs would come out on top with hurricane due to the new FA, however there are those who think otherwise. Please share your thoughts?

BM > NL.

Since you probably want an answer and not an opinion, I'll just say that potential % matters between the classes. I think NLs would do quite well on their own with their f`ucked up TT formula, but since bowmasters have final attack I think that sort of evens it out. Although I think as a bowmaster it's harder to hit 100ks than it is for an NL due to the nature of the formula.

 Spoiler

Perhaps on paper.

I find myself comparing my damage to NL's based on the bottom numbers they hit and forgetting about their SP numbers, which brings their avg down to between the two.

However, I will say that it is harder for BM's to hit 100k's than for NL's just due to the nature of the beast. More equips for more potential, higher multiplier, higher base damage on the skill. NL's hit hard and fast. BM's hit less hard but faster.

I think it's on more of the lines that NL has more avoid allowing him to hit more. BM's may have scarecrow but it doesn't work as well as just having a 40% chance of not being hit at all

Puppet works for soloing non-stationary bosses. Hit boss, run to the side and drop a puppet, kb boss into corner for a minute, wait for puppet to expire and reset. At my level, it only helps will grandpa. But at lower levels it'll work for anego and crow and pap (gotta put it with atleast half the map between it and pap to work) etc.

lol same alot of times i end up comparing their max hit to my max hit, then i realize that half their hits are 50% of that, but most the NLs i know havent realized that SE is just as much a boost for every1 else compared to them, instead of SE being their god

BM has higher DPS, but NL's have (a lot) better gameplay with haste + flash jump + shadow shifter 45%

And a lot more opportunity for better equips. It is extremely hard (for me, at least) to find decent equips for Bowman since we're pretty much the only one that uses DEX as our primary stat coupled with the fact that very few people actually play bowman classes.

Yet, LUK equips, and good ones at that, are a dime a dozen.

BMs are better in terms of DPS, they will reign supreme even more after their Jump! update. If we thieves ever get such a massive revamp, the table might turn again.

Oh yeah, and don't forget that they're the lowest base watt class in maple, making watt buffs (percentage wise) the best for them, I also forgot their alchemist skill which makes onyx apples last 1.5x as long.

I am not a pro but Bm's are better in my opinion.

Yep, when Jump comes, then it's game on. Currently, i'd say NL's and BM's are fairly similar in terms of base damage. Post-Jump, i'm pretty sure BM's then MM's take a fairly large jump over all other classes in terms of base dpm.

NLs can also get more %main stat easier ie, no 3rd tier bowman tops, NLs can get a 3rd tier face accessory(db mask).
