I like achievements. If I set my own goals, I wouldn't challenge myself nearly has hard as the achievements do. It's not about having bragging rights as much as it is having a clear, pre-set goal.

(stupid ferrets; I had to wait forever to post this, had to rewrite it (at 3 AM, so it wasn't as good), and then it SOMEHOW DELETED MY POST AGAIN because I clicked the wrong button and now it got even worse)
