Looking forward to Skyward Sword?

Sarah Wrote:Did I call you a moron? No. I called the guy calling people cheap asses for not willingly dishing out $25 for an unproven "great" game and currently useless piece of hardware a moron. It had nothing to do with you.

Nintendo didn't really have a choice but to start including motion plus into new wiimotes after releasing it. You can't say "we can make this hardware better" and then chose not to include it in future updates, haha. That would really make people mad. But developers just don't want to use it, that has nothing to do with Nintendo and they don't really have any control over it. Just because it's there doesn't mean it will be used. And there are still millions of people who bought wii on launch who don't have the wii motion plus, or people who have bought second hand, etc etc. and have never had any reason to. I mean, even in this thread it is pretty evident that there are many people without the accessory or who happen to have it but wouldn't otherwise if a sibling/new controller didn't come with it.

It really doesn't matter who you call a moron, does it? It matters that if you go around calling people a moron, you can't act as one yourself. Otherwise, you make yourself look like a moron in the eyes of others.

Look, they simply would have this upgraded motion control just to go back to the basic one-motion-is-all-you-need-to-make-your-character-do-100%-of-everything-all-of-the-time crap. Of course developers are going to make use of it if it's there. The Wii Motion Plus adds a much, much wider gaming ability than the basic crap. The basic crap makes the game horrible, while the new stuff makes the game look sleeker and better.

Sarah Wrote:Prove it will. Go find me articles from developers talking about their hopes for the Wii U and how they intend to make great use of the motion plus. If no developer wants to use it NOW, then they sure as hell aren't going to want to use it when the Wii U hits.

I actually think it'll be more likely to be used when the wii u hits. Inevitably, the wii u is going to have to come with a wiimote, which will either be a wiimote + or included a wii motion plus. So, unlike the wii, every single console owner will have access to the improved motion sensing. Plus, it might make porting stuff from PS3 to the wii u easier if it uses the PSmove. But I'm not sure how widely used that is, so it might be nothing.

Quote:Eh, free is a lot to ask. I wouldn't mind paying $10 for it, but anything more is absurd. $10 for motion plus would put the game at the price of any other console game and therefore not worth complaining about (unless you bought the wii because the games are cheaper.)
Can't speak for other countries, but the other two times I've bought a motion+ game, (depending on the retailer) it cost an optional ~£5 extra to get a motionplus with the game, which would be less than $10. Can't speak for other countries but its certainly not out the window of possibility.

I am looking forward to it, but not to the point of "HAVE TO HAVE ON DAY ONE". I haven't really read up a whole lot on it, and I intend to leave it that way to avoid spoilers. I also already have the Wii Motion Plus since I got it with a black remote a while back... admittingly for no purpose at the time if I recall correctly. I mean it doesn't look like I own anything from that Wiki list. Regardless, I'm set, but I can understand the other side of things as well. For the longest time, I avoided buying certain games because of the dominant use of the classic controller. I did finally break down and invest on a pro version once it came out though, but I was still upset at the extra costs.

But this brings me to a question. I wasn't a member of any online communities at the time, so I may have missed the discussions; but back in the N64 days, did people have issues with games requiring the Expansion Pak, or Controller Pak? An excellent comparison would be Majora's Mask. Only that and Donkey Kong 64 REQUIRED the Expansion Pak, whereas other games simply made use of it. Were there complaints at that time too? I'm fairly certain there were bundles, but I cannot recall the cost difference.

Wii MotionPlus was made because launch Wii tech was not adequate for true 3D motion sensing. They could've charged $500 at launch to include every feature they or you now feel is important, but instead they wanted to hit market with a reasonably priced console, unlike certain competitors with hideously overpriced hardware that people whining about price have brought up (hilariously).

Is the requirement of motionplus annoying on some level? Sure. But only if you think that any motion control requirement in the new Zelda game is wrong. If you think that it would be fine if motion control was required but motion plus wasn't, then you're fine with inferior, inadequate products, as any swordplay game with stock launch Wii tech would be. However, Nintendo and most Zelda fans are not okay with inadequacy.

Besides, I got my motion plus wiimote for like 20 bucks bundled with a game... if you were that concerned about spending $25 there were lots of opportunities to evade it.

Asking if I'm looking forward to buying SS is like asking me if I'd like to buy some stupid ass game with a butchered story, a flamboyant albino villain, a rainbow pelipper, and a sword that can somehow turn into a woman and then later transforms into the Master Sword. I'll probably end up buying it, but I'll be sure to rage every second in the process. How the pineapple this can be a prequel to OoT I shall never know. I hope Nintendo doesn't pineapple this up too much.

Also, mexican rainbows all up in this game.
If you don't want to pay $70 for a game at launch because it "requires an accessory that quite a few people don't own because no one wants to use it," you could always, oh, I don't know, wait until they drop the price?

Berzerk Wrote:$17 + $50 = $67 before taxes. $72.50 with 8% sales tax. Honestly, you guys are babies. It's only $7 more than an Xbox 360 or PS3 game with taxes. I'll be getting it because it'll be a solid game with quite a few hours of play time.

Have I ever told you you're slowly becoming my favorite poster on these boards?

SS involves the creation of the Master Sword, which means it's placed before any Zelda game that involves the Master Sword, timeline wise. Plus considering OoT is essentially the beginning of the split / linear Zelda timeline, I thought it'd be obvious lol

Let it be known to this day, in the mindset of SouthPerry's world, "Use" = "Require" / "Mandatory".

Because Zelda games (and Nintendo games in general) are known for their constant price drops.

Twilight Princess just got its first price drop. Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks are still $40. That's not even an option.

Again, they -had- confirmed that it would be -required- for Skyward Sword.

They confirmed this in past interviews and whatever other fucking pomegranate. If I'm not mistaken they confirmed it before -and- during E3.
