Do you think JMS will become the main development server soon?

As wikipedia says, Nexon moved their main HQ to Tokyo earlier this year. Does this mean that KMST will become shafted in the majority of the updates and that japanMs will be put ahead of it in priority in developing new content?

It would make sense, japan has far more resources than south korea, and IF they were to switch development from Nexon korea to Nexon Japan due to the location of their primary source of work, then theres a good chance that Japan may become the primary host for most of the content. Hurt

What do you think?

Mmm.. I don't think so. I really don't like many of the updates JMS are providing for their own version. To me, it strays from the whole theme of Maplestory. I really hope not, and I doubt it.

Even if they did, and i really don't think they would, it would be a stupid move. There was a nova special i saw that said the stress from the japan earthquakes/tsunami moved to a pressure point that is dangerously close to tokyo. When that point ruptures it's going to destroy everything, including Nexon.

Besides, they can still use JMS for any resources they might need. If GMS can access KMS for anything they might need (as noted in the last blabberbox), then it can obviously work the other way around.

I wouldn't trust Wikipedia on that, not only is it not cited, their company website still lists them as being in Korea.

I hope not. I don't like some of the content that JMS depelops on its own (I still like a lot of it though), besides I doubt JMS would put as much effort on polishing and balancing things for an update as KMS does.

If I'm not wrong japans biggest concern are the tsunamis since everything is pretty much build to resist earthquakes (unless something like 9+ comes and the worst one they had record of is the tohoku from earlier this year) and tokyo although flat its protected from most tsunamis due to its bay.

OT: I doubt it since even though jMS seems to be getting more content than kMS is all over the place.

I also heard something about the Headquaters being stationed at Nexon Japan now, but I doubt they would take any lead in content with JMS. For one, JMS would have to take a HUGE step forward in the current content in play. It would have to play catch up by a long mile (we're behind GMS, CMS and TaiwanMS). Secondly, there would have to be a very long hault on the content being added to the KMS server in order for the Japanese version to catch up enough to take lead. So unless we see Nexon Japan giving JMS an enormously huge content patch that contains everything from KMS up to the most current patch, we'll never see JMS become the leading version of Maple.
