LHC's spawn enhancer hack/exploit
#21
Alilatias Wrote:Pretty much this. I wasn't even aware that the odd increase in spawn (assuming that having up to 10 Crockies at the bottom is an increase) was a hack/exploit in any way during 2x this past week, and my whole party didn't seem to be aware either. There wasn't even any WH hackers doing anything in our channel during the entire 2x, meaning that the effects of this hack can linger in the affected map for hours at a time.

from what i have seen:
it's caused by the attacking PB hack
can stay for hours, if not days
it seems that every successful PB increases the spawn even more, i've seen maps with 10 crockos down, i've seen some with like 30
can be used anywhere, looking for hackers and ksers at the haunted mansion, i came upon a map with loads of jesters. seen some maps with extra bearwolves too.

@ locked: it is a hack, or rather, a sub-effect of one, summoning PB increases the spawn a lot.

This has happened before. Then it died. I didn't see it as a hack rather then a possible spawning glitched so I trained there and seemed ok..but im pretty sure despite what's going on, majority of lhc'ers won't complain about the spawn rate. Not that I support hacking it's just the common greed of maple.

So there's finally a hack that made everyone's wet dream come true. Super ultra spawn at the best training zone in the game.

Uh.
No.
This spawn thing has been going on since the first map crash went public, which was before the summon hack.

I'm pretty sure it's just increasing the maps speed, which is a hack that's been around for a while, just not used in this way. But it only works on certain chs. Much like the HobPQ exploit was faster on certain chs.

Stop being denial, it is a hack, or at least a glitch. Maybe it was prvate for a while and only the elite hackers from Windia had it, that'd explain why you've seen it out for a while. In any case IT JUST GOT PRETTY COMMON. I train in LHC a few hours every day and considering once activated, the spawn stays altered until the next SC it is not possible it has been out for more than a few days.

Yes, this is a glitch because most of the popular hacking spots have increased spawn (anywhere from 2x to like 10x+). Rolleyes How naive can people get? If it was a glitch, why would it happen to the select-few specific maps that are frequently hacked in? Would it not happen to most of the unpopular hacking spots as well?

This explains why when I was running to LHC, I saw a royal fuckton of Pangs, and a PB going through its death animation, I guess.

They were all being vacced to a platform that doesn't normally spawn Pangs so I'm pretty sure it was a hacker.

I'm not sure, but I think all vacs a/b. I'm not sure. Maybe they were vacc'd to a platform that Pangs don't spawn in.

Nope.

I've seen it done plenty of times and the person doing it stays on for a hell of a long time.

Could this be perhaps related to the summoning and dying of monsters summoned by WHs in general? Has any WH ever tested randomly summoning monsters on maps over and over again to see if it increases spawn?

I could be completely off, but what Im understanding is that because a monster is "dying", then more spawn. For example, if a pang map usually spawns 10 pangs, and you kill 5, then 5 more will spawn to replace the 5 dead ones. However, if a WH summons a hector (or PB), and then it dies, then another monster will spawn to replace it, and if you do it enough, then there will be a gigantic load of monsters.

Under such a hypothesis, it would have nothing to do with a PB or a hacker at all, but rather related to a certain skill having an unintended effect.

Would like to see someone with a wild hunter experience with such an idea.
