First habitable planet confirmed!

Eh. Humanity WILL be able to travel outside the solar system. It's just a matter of time. Really, only thing that would prevent humanity from doing so is total extinction, which is highly unlikely unless:

Someone develops Foxdie. Or we get hit by two asteroids in opposite sides of the planet.
Or black holes. Or instant atmospheric collapse. Or we never improve technology for the following billions years, and then the sun goes supernova and fries our collective asses (while cosplaying as Sephiroths (totally worth it.) )

-More incoherent blabber-

But man, it would be cool as hell to see the first few bigass ships housing entire civilizations just randomly traveling space. Macross style. W/o the mechas... probably.

pineapple, I wanted to be born later in the future.
Someone better clone me! AND my memories!

-On topic.-
Hell yeah!

Voyagers are almost reaching the outer space if you so put it. Granted, it's still not out of our Solar System yet, but we're being introduced to something other than just the Sun for the first time.

Interstellar travel f'uck yeah.

..We spend billions of dollars on space exploration, just curious to find out what's out there, when our own world is so messed up. Those billions of dollars would go a long way in eradicating poverty (which of course is much too idealistic, but you see my point)

Isn't the first habitable planet confirmed... Earth?

I guess somebody must have discovered it by now. If not, I demand a Nobel.

True, but if we didn't spend those billions of dollars on space exploration, we'd never come to realize about any potential life form or other habitable planets out there. What we bring forth now could might as well help out the next generation and so forth.

Earth is not habitable, what are you thinking?
