Mahou Shoujo Kazumi Magica

The spin-off of Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica, and what appeared to be a much lighter and more fun version with more fanservicey characters, then chapter 3 came along (it would be chapter 3, Madoka Magica did something similar if you remember) and things have certainly gotten interesting.

A second Incubator, and 8 Magical Girls. I was thinking that the incubator would tell all the girls about the soul gems and witches etc, but short of Kazumi, all the other girls seem to already know which actually could be far more dangerous.

It's only on chapter 3 so far, but it's definitely starting to pick up the pace, i would recommend it to anyone who likes Madoka, or anyone who likes seeing a magical girl series turned on its head.

I stopped after the first chapter because it seemed like a train wreck back then. But I did plan on picking it up when it was finished. I think I'll still wait for more chapters.

...and with Chapter 4 comes synthetic witches. Good Lord, what will they throw at us next?!

Oh yeah, and I seriously laughed when the name of the new Incubator was revealed; "Juubey" ("Kyu" is 9 and "Juu" is 10. Lol). In any case, Juubey is infinitely more useful than that damn Kyubey; Juubey can (and will) absorb the "darkness" from the Soul Gems, eliminating the need for Grief Seeds (well, except that he IS still collecting the Seeds).

Anyways, some speculation over at the mangafox forums:

One of the Pleiades Saints uses a power similar to the witch Sayaka went mad fighting in Episode 7, and Kazumi seems to bear a strong resemblance to Charlotte due to her appetite. Could Kazumi Magica be a prequel to Madoka Magica, with the Pleiades Saints eventually becoming the witches featured in the latter?

My thoughts: Come to think of it, could Walpurgis Night be the result of all the Pleiades Saints becoming witches and assimilating (except for the two or three that were killed beforehand, assuming the witches are them)?

I've read speculation that some of the witches were previous magical girls that were shown at the end of the series, for example Elsa Maria (the one Sayaka went batpomegranate on) was actually Joan of Arc, who was revealed to be a magical girl in the finale.
Though i do believe that Walpurgis Night is the Pleiades Saints, since the magical girls walpurgis used as attacks had outfits that were sorta.. poofy, which resemble their outfits.

OUCH that looked hella painful. For a moment i was thinking "Why aren't they dead after that!?" until i remembered they are practically zombies... brrrr. Juubey seems a lot more useful than Kyubey, but also a lot more scary. I imagine that Kyubey COULD have cleansed Soul Gems if he liked, but he had his own agenda and probably got more energy from letting it fester for a little longer.
It seems to me that the evil girl DIED at some point, considering the Pleiades Saints reactions to her... yeah, not sure how thats gonna go.
I imagine that Witch!Kazumi is going to kill quite a few of them.
