Log in Via web vs. launcher

just wondered why it is recommended by some to log via launcher?

I am aware that the website isnt the safest, but any other reasons?

Well I use a varation on the launcher.
i added the -gamelaunching thing to the target so that it launches straight to the splash screen without the silly launcher thing popping up.

I just use it because its eaiser and I dont like having to wait for firefox to open, page to load, log in, click start, close firefox.

Some have multiple accounts, and logging through the site prevents you from simply logging out and entering the info to a second account.

I always use the gamelauncher variation.

I'm more used to the client login.

For people who use a single account most of the time the website launcher is more ideal because when they logout they don't have to input their ID and password, instead they end up at world select and only input their PIC.
However, for people who regularly switch between more than one account while they play, the old launching method is more ideal because they don't have to close the game, relog on the website, and launch the game again. Instead, when they log out they're taken to the old login screen (in-game) and just input their info to their alternate account there without having to relaunch the game.

its just easier to click the gamelauncher shortcut and start the game for me

Just wondering, having your info saved by your browser doesn't compromise my account right?
Since I'm quite lazy and by having my data saved I just click on start and the game launches without me having to even type anything.
In other words, whats the actual danger of the website?

I believe the only danger in that would be if someone goes into the options on your browser and finds both your account / pass, but if no one else accesses your computer i cant imagine there being much of a problem there.
