August '05. Moved to Windia on day one once that server opened up since I had put a fair amount of effort personally hunting for ores to make my glove, and I lost them to a partial storage NPC rollback in Scania. Also, I did not like training a mage with no potion money. Standing to recover MP; even with the improved skill; took too much patience from me. By that same note, I did not start using potions until level 35 on my current main partially due to my obsession with the equipment sets.
I'm gen 4 since I started around the zakum time. Am I the only one who noticed that the roman numerals he has are duplicated? he has VI listed twice which would be 4 and 6 respectively I figure. I looked through the first 3 pages and didn't see it mentioned so yeah....
SlayerZach Wrote:SPEAKING OF CHRISTMAS EVENTS the Snowman was fun in December 2006. Too bad I had a computer that was absolute crap and I lagged through the whole battle.
I LOVED that event. SO MUCH. I want it back, seriously! ;-;
First Gen, back about 1 or 2 weeks of Beta, where people at Survival Project (discontinued game) forums were dissatisfied with game progression and all suggested to play Maplestory, so I jumped the bandwagon too, harhar.
v.33, I remember when Bera had 20 channels, no one was statless, and Hermits were the scourge of the universe [I still hold a grudge from too many bad levels at Z2-3].
Not earliest but relevant. Leafre came out First SS that I know of first hax encounter
Like around a week of gen 1 so i just put 2. I skipped about 8 gens entirely however. ok i exaggurated i stopped playing shortly after zakum til like pirates were a bit over a year old.
Channel 20 in Bera was my home. I never logged into a different channel. When channel 20 was removed, I remember everyone I knew, including myself, was saddened by it. :<

If you count original join date, Generation 4. Otherwise, Gen. 5.
Lost my old, old SS's due to purging my comp some time after taking them. Didn't even know I took them for the longest time, but they were interesting to look at. I used to obsess over having a full armor set for the next 10 levels. Even dropped a 2 att 4 slot level 35 glove for a 3 luk level 40 glove figuring luk > att at the time. Also used to be so much fun when all I cared about was an empty "Quest Available" log and a mostly empty "In Progress" log. Even bought NX just to 2x drop at Fire Boars for a Glass Shoe.
Panlid Gang... oh yes I remember Pan lids. So excited when I first got one. Turned down an offer of 80k, which was just a ton of money back then (for me).

Kind of miss those days....
For every 10k I made, I put it in storage.
I felt my savings plan was genius back then. xD I took a screenshot of my first mil ever (I was level 45 or something and I made that mil hunting Mateons in Omega Sector back when the place was first released, I remembered <3) but I sadly lost it. :<
I started playing around June or July of 06 although it was a good 5-6 months before I started officially playing with characters that exist to this day. 3rd Gen it is, then ;P
Poultry migrated from beta to closed beta Scania! (Was so sad when I heard I'd have to start over!) I remember buying the very first set of NX, I begged my parents (I was around 13-14 at the time) to allow me to put $5 on my account; the stuff was only a few cents each and it expired within 30 days. I got a cowgirl outfit.
In Beta, I remember dressing up as a noob over and over again. I loooved throwing on my beginner outfit and running around and pretending I was a low level. People would click me and see level 4x and be like OMG PRO! Then one of my friends 'hacked' me, sad day. He left me in my noob clothes so I didn't even notice until I looked more closely at my inventory.
