Battlemage Darkness Element

So.. this question im sure has been raised a few times before, but I cant seem to find any threads on it.

Does anyone know if nexon has dished out mobs with the weakness to the dark element?

Yes they have. In fact, Birks in Leafre (the sheep) are dark weak.

Slight hijack, but do all Battle Mage attacks do Dark element damage or just some of them?

Just dark shock and genesis, pretty sure.

Test monsters. There's one for every element, all different colors. There are also a ton of level 10 Swords with elements, just for testing.

You don't. They're for test by Nexon, can only be spawned by GMs.

Isn't there an Assassin/Bandit skill that grants a resistance to Dark-type attacks? Doesn't that mean that some monsters inflict damage of this element?

I think there are more Dark-element skills. Like Mir's Dark Fog.

Shadow Resistance? Reduces damage from any elemental attack.

Well.. after seeing the list of dark weak monsters, Im disappointed. Why make a darkness element that only comes at a 3rd/4th job level when 90% of the monsters weak to your element are so far below your lvl there's really no point in having it.

I think the logic behind that is if a monster is weak to Holy, it's also strong against Darkness element save for most bosses. That's probably the only reason they had. It's no hidden hint there will be a class in the future that deals dark damage throughout its job or anything.
