Late to a Metroid thread.

Super and Prime games are God tier.
Other M is a steaming pile of horse dung that doesn't deserve to bear the Metroid name. Fusion kinda sucks too.

What! WHAT! Fusion is awesome... One of the very best. I'd have to say it's my second favorite, after Metroid Prime. The atmosphere is just so hard to match. I think Fusion and the Prime series are the best Metroid games, even through Prime 3 was a disappointing way to end a great triology.

Other M is pretty bad yeah. I don't really understand what they were thinking.

Super Metroid was one of the more fun ones IMO, but Fusion and Zero mission were cool. I liked how Zero Mission retold the original Metroid story and added the ... well I better not spoil the end for Justin.

Fusion marked the beginning of Sakamoto's rise to destroy Samus. The amount of hand holding in that game is unforgiveable.

While I still enjoyed it to a degree, I like to actually think in a Metroid game, and Fusion didn't allow that.

I've already gotten to the post-Original Metroid part. I haven't managed to get a power suit yet from the Chozo ruins, but I'm stuck on this ship with the Space Pirates... Trying not to get caught. What a b'itch that is...



Anyway... I liked the story and graphics and all of that of the Metroid Prime series, but what I didn't like at all about it was that Samus was slow and so stiff... It didn't feel like the same Samus I've grown to know in the side-scrolling games.

Not getting caught is hard. The trick is... watch the movements and see where they goof up and then slip past as quickly as possible. It's a patience game at times.
