MAME fighting games netplay
#1
Anyone up for MAME fighting games netplay?

I play:

- Marvel vs. Capcom
- X-Men vs. Street Fighter
- Marvel Super Heroes
- Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter
- SFIII: 3rd Impact (well if we can make it work on netplay)
- Darkstalkers

etc. You know how it goes.

Recommend games you'd like to play and let's see if we can come up with something.

Interested, but not playing now. For now I downloaded MAME and Darkstalkers but I probably won't get them running until tomorrow. Already failed on my first quick attempt, meaning I'll have to look up what version Darkstalkers DOES work with, get that version, and set it up.

I'd be interested in some SF3 or XvS action if I could them setup properly. (I have about a 80% fail rate with MAME).

I got Marvel vs Capcom 1 to work, but I want to find a version that's compatible with both MvC and Darkstalkers (or at an updated ROM that works with newer versions).

Of course, it's not just the emulator, it's the fact that you have to find the right combination of ROM (which often times aren't labeled what version they work with) AND the emulator that works for that ROM. Always disliked how MAME was such a hassle to set up. From making users use command lines to "improving" the emulation with each version, breaking some old ROMs because they don't have the data needed for "proper emulation" in them, etc.
