If you are going to encode an NPC's name, why would you use a language that not only do a lot of people speak, but a word which is a cognate for over a dozen European languages...?

Honestly, I'm not sure what to make of this. This is one of the worse ways to hide meaning in names if you are right. If not, I do not know where it leads.
