Opeth's tips for unwashed Papulatus soloing

You weren't wearing enough HP gear.

Just let a friend borrow my 1000 HP gear and 3 apples to attempt his first pap solo at 132 unwashed last night. He survived. Being decked out in that gear, there was no choice but for him to use apple in order to knock it back. Seriously, make HP gear. It's cheap fun and readys you for Horntail.

You mean without right? And yeah it's not called luck, aslong as you keep distance from pap with Puppet the bombs dont spawn close to you and you can strafe them up.

Yupp, I immigrated in late April/early July. A lot of old friends restarted in Windia, and one immigrated. Then two RL friends started playing the server, so I went too. I already had a character on there, and loved the community.

A friend and I have been planning to do a Pap duo when I get to 12x, any tips? He's a lvl 12x Night Lord. Also, would duoing or soloing be easier?

Hmm...well, I already explained as much as I know about fighting Pap without being able to KB. All I can really say is to stay as far away from him at all times. If you want to invest some money into Onyx Apples, that would help you guys a lot.

I think you should include that you should pap with the audio on. In tight situations people might not notice what they see since all the pap skills look kinda the same when you're thinking on your feet but you can still hear things. (I personally don't even notice what spell its about to cast except for 1/1 since its so different from the rest).

Pap makes two distinct "whirl"-whistle-like sound. One means it's about to dispel/stun and one means it's gonna summon bombs. For magicians, they just need to listen for the dispel sound. Dispel and stun makes the same whistle but bomb summon is completely different.

I decided to go in myself today, just to get the hang of the map and his summoning patterns. Surprisedly, I got this far before running out of pots (I wasn't planning to kill it, so I only brought ~150 for fun):



After that point, he was healing almost as much as I was doing to him, and the HP bar stopped moving down. Maybe it even went up. xD

I forgot to turn off my sounds, I definitely did hear different sounds when using skills though. I'll try to remember to shut off the music next time I go.

How close can I get to him when he hides without risking death? I was staying kinda far back, so my Puppet got owned with Touch damage more than anything.

When Pap hides you can stand right on top of him. Just be sure to move as soon as he gets up. But he more often then not dispels / summons bombs as soon as he gets up.

well, i got to 2nd body, 2nd body is almost impossible for me cause i forgot to cast SE before i started shooting at it.so i did very little damage, then i just got pinned.i woulda survived if i had a silver mane.

yea the other thing was that puppet jsut didnt give me enough time to do what i needed to do before it died.i think i wanna be able to KB 2nd body before it gets easier.

At that level, it doesn't really matter what kind of gear you got. without bowexpert, you can't constant KB pap. =( Nah, I'm not that well equipped, who told you that? F6
