Knights in the Nightmare
#1
Just bought the UMD yesterday night.

I read a few reviews, and they all say it's pretty tough...

In any case, I just finished the Tutorial Missions and am just embarking on the actual game. Feels kinda fun so far. Definitely a lot more engaging than Riviera.

Just wondering if anyone's playing or has played this game...

I played it for the sake of following the "Yggdra" -> "Riviera" -> "Knights of the nightmare" Story, and to be able to understand it more, it IS preety though, I only got to kill dark marieta. Then the game got impossible.

Really good game overall.

I've had the game for a while now, but only played I think 12 or so stages. Once I realized the missables lead to more missables later on leading to further difficulty in the game, I set it down and never got around to getting back to it.

Interesting premise on the genre mixing to say the least though.

EDIT: Ah, just noticed the word UMD in your post. The version I have is the DS one.

Multiplayer, right? I think I saw a trailer of this, and it somehow reminded me of MH. Let me know what you guys think of it after a week or two, because I'm heavily contemplating on whether I want to buy it or not.

Grrr this is getting annoying. I've played through Scene 5 about 5 times now, and I still can't get the damn Bent Coin key item. I can get everything else though...

My brother lent me the DS version but I haven't gotten around to actually playing it yet...been too busy trying to best SMT Nocturne (EFFING MATADOR!).

Hurrah. After my 10th try or so, I finally managed to obtain that damned Bent Coin key item. Turns out I was dealing too much damage to the barrel.

Hell, even the Lv5 Hermit that joined dealt too much damage at a 50% charge...instant 0 durability on the stupid thing...

The DS version made me want to to shoot myself. Was way too hard to do with the stylus. I think I lost hope after the 8th mission

The PSP uses either the analog stick or D-Pad to control the wisp, so it's (thankfully) a whole lot easier.

I like this game a lot but I never got very far because of the same reasons that LongShotJohn has. I definitely plan to finish it someday as it is just too unique to give up on!!

That's why I'm playing while referring to a Key Items list.

I'm planning to get all Key Items on my first playthrough so life becomes easier, because NG+ transfers all characters and their levels...

Dude, Matador is SO HARD if you're not prepared long before you get to him. Nocturne is just crazy all together but yeah Matador is definitely challenging.

edit: On topic, I tried Riveira but I couldn't get into it. One, because there was a creepy fucking loli bath scene and two because the perfectionist in me wouldn't let me progress without making sure I did each level perfectly and something almost always went wrong at some point.

Strategy RPG + Bullet Hell. You have to plan out strategies while dodging bullets and stuff.

There are two bath scenes actually...

Perfectionism...ikr? I tend to screw up at S-ranking the boss.

If you have the right Magatama then you're fine. I can't beat freaking Lucifer on Maniac. Which is why I'm not playing over Maniac + Evil side ever again. That shat is hard.
